They're out of control, and that happened with the development of classes so wealthy that liberal democracy became both a tool and an existential threat to them.

When we finally get large-enough majorities for long enough, we can pass the needed protective laws and regulations , including attacking the barbarians' funding in the short term, and at the same time address the grave threats to democracy of extreme wealth accumulation, as well as extreme income inequities.

The vote. It's all doable. Even another 5% voting to do it would tip the balance to civilization.
