(5 posts)A brutal 14-hour day of mostly doing nothing. No thugs appeared, no fake cops to scare off people, real cops simply to vote, no disruptions just outside the 100-foot limit. DOJ team appeared twice, once on a complaint (long lines!) and once just to check in. Two Dem poll-watchers, three or more Reps, even checking off people as they voted, so stragglers could be called later. Five wards, about 3000 people, 5 turned away for no proof of residence or ID. The first person of color appeared an hour after the polls opened. All day we had an Arab, maybe a dozen Hispanics, and a few dozen blacks. Otherwise lily-white. I was ready for a 55% Romney total. So I was stunned to finally hear the words "Does anybody wish to have the totals read aloud?" I was the only one to boom out "YES" and heard about 2-1 or more, Obama/Baldwin from every ward!
