Signs on entering the building required masks, no electioneering or campaigning, no political clothing/hats allowed. There was a steady stream of people coming and going by ones and twos, but no waiting. Communal cup of pens (*bzzt*) for signing paperwork but plenty of hand sanitizer available. I wore gloves.
For all the care taken to move from the usual room to another larger room, the extra space was not effectively used. Half a dozen machines were available, but they were not spaced six feet apart or staggered into separate rows. The check-in table and machines were all crammed to the side of the room, leaving most of the normal furniture (large tables at the front for city council, rows of chairs for attendees) unmoved. People, what was the point? 🤦?♀️
Voting was easy, my ballot registered everything as I wanted and printed fine, and it went into the box and showed I was voter number 6,654. Whee! More hand sanitizer and a sticker were offered on the way out. My gloves and I declined the sanitizer but kept the sticker. I came home and put on my new favorite t-shirt, woohoo!
