A big argument for is that people can be reminded of what a competent, ethical government looks like and that the next government will start seeming real and possible. Prospective appointees can talk about what they should and will do to restore general wellbeing and prosperity and decency and fairness in government.

That's going to be really important. Also, it's possible that a couple/few of his VP candidates could show up there, both as regular cabinet and specially created positions.

This agitprop lie below, claimed to be a tweet by Ocasio-Cortez, shows why we really need future administration officials speaking out, not just the media (horrors!) and congressional leaders discussing their battles. Of course Ocasio-Cortez would never say this but tens of millions who also have it popping up in their media don't know that and won't check:
