19. Biden is FUNDAMENTALLY a decent human being.

You can see it in how he relates to people. Even with his being "touchy feely", it does not seem born of wantonness but a desire to connect with people.

As you said, people make mistakes. I was watching the documentary 13th, and Charlie Rangel was talking about the culture of the 1970's, 1980's, and 1990's when the laws against drugs, crime, and minimum sentencing were popular because people were reacting to the fear caused by the social upheaval of the 1960's. Rangel supported, as an African-American congressperson, the approach to crime and drugs that created the mass incarceration within Black communities. He said that it was a mistake and did not have the effects that were expected or desired.

People are not perfect, but Biden, unlike Trump, actually has an ethical and moral core. He cares about people. He is capable of and has shown deep compassion. Qualities which Trump fundamentally does not have.

This election is not about policy as much as it is about core human values and where we need to be headed as a nation.
