(23,955 posts)39. imagine what a 1% COVID-19 mortality rate will look like applied to a population of 330 million
frankly it's hard for me to do.
trying to picture 30 million sick people and over 3 million dead -- we're talking mass graves.
if we get some solid palliative treatments and reduce that mortality rate to 0.5% that's still well over a million lives ended prematurely, and their surviving friends and family can't even attend a funeral to say farewell.
and probably at least another year for a safe, effective vaccine.
