But, older people, by & large are acting fairly responsibly, so they can still protect themselves.
The death rate here in Illinois has continued to drop and is 5 now. It was up to 8 at one point. And almost 1/6th were older people in care facilities.
Yesterday, we had 738 cases & 14 deaths, so under 2%.
Not that it's a good thing, but many of the most vulnerable have died. This, sadly, leaves a population of fewer highly vulnerable.
So, as long as people don't go full on stupid, the rate should fall below the 5% we've seen overall.
But, like I said, even 25% of that is still a brutal number of deaths.
