(9,659 posts)Not only did I live in the mountains, I worked outside. I had to get my 'must live in the mountains and run a chairlift' feeling out of my system.
There was one day that I know it was 10 below, but I had no idea what the windchill factor was that day. I do remember it was very windy. I still wish I could have found out what it was with windchill factor.
You actually get used to it. You can eat anything you want and you burn it all off. Nobody tells you that when it starts warming up, don't eat so much. All of a sudden your pants are too tight. And when I say warm up, I'm talking about 25 degrees.
Once you get into the below zero numbers, when it comes back up into the twenties, we were actually wearing t-shirts, and sweating. Seriously. Those were the good old days!
