They made this film to intentionally mock Islam and their prophet and create chaos in the Islamic world. I don't believe the official Romney campaign or the official Republican Party were in anyway behind this. I do believe the people who made this film and choose the time of its release on YouTube did so with an agenda which included attempting to influence the election assuming that chaos in the Middle East might bring down Obama.
