I have a workplace that is pretty safe-- a locked lab that no one but me and my partner have entered since before Christmas, in a building on lock down since early March when campus closed (zero cases previously). I'm currently on the list of "essential faculty" so I could return to work now if I wanted to, and it's probably at least as safe as staying home, but I don't really need to yet. I did have to move my office last week so I was on campus and it's a bit eerie, all dark hallways, empty parking lots, and silent solitude.
I still wouldn't stop social distancing, however. In fact, the only reason I might return to work is because I'm just as isolated there as I am at home.

I added it. I agree with you. Wondering why the media just won't say how ridiculous this idea is.
