(3,483 posts)wife called him and told him that she had been sent home from her work (for the same company but at a different location) because the IT guy she works with closely tested positive for coronavirus.
So Friday night is usually our night to sit together on the couch and watch a movie and Im not really wanting to do it. Shes only like 2° of separation from an active coronavirus patient right? And they hand each other their phones all day to look at stuff.
And I have to be in a crowded, sweaty, no windows, recirculated air courtroom Monday morning to be a witness in a trial, ( I had to testify in a different dank courtroom on Wednesday) and one of the guys who does the same line of work that I do showed me a notice issued by the Superior Court this morning 830am, that beginning Monday morning witnesses should not appear for trials if they dont feel well. And that they should call the court and let them know that they wouldnt be appearing. But I know from my experience its very limited odds that youll get through to the clerk of the court before youre supposed to appear and if you dont appear youre going to be liable for legal penalties for non appearance. Everything is gonna go haywire, this is just one tiny corner of the world thats heading for chaos.
NOBODY wants to appear in court. Giving people a free pass is gonna be unworkable. No trials can go forward with no witnesses.
