57. Watch what experts (CDC, WHO) say and what governments do, not what "some folks tell me".

Feb 2020

When was the last time a city of 11 million was placed in quarantine for "the common flu"? Governments don't take these kinds of actions lightly.

You don't need to panic, just prepare. Stock up on some supplies so you don't need to leave the house for a week. A few weeks would be better. Make sure all your prescriptions are filled if they are running low.

Take basic precautions like not going out to crowded places if you don't have to. Cancel travel plans if you can. Wash your hands, don't touch your face. Make arrangements if you're worried and live alone to have someone check in on you periodically. Build up your immune system - get lots of sleep, eat a balanced diet and do some light exercise.

The odds are good that you'll be fine and there's no point worrying over something that's a slim chance and that you don't have that much control over.

Seems to be some sort of genetic lottery situation Shermann Feb 2020 #1
