Some hit on various elements, but the bottom line is that 30+ years of their callously gaslighting the "base" has infected even the people doing the gaslighting.
To what extent any republican has any decency or common sense left, it gets disregarded out of hand by their fundamental belief in the evil liberal boogyman.
They LONG have crossed a threashold where ANYTHING is justifiable, hell even righteous, in the epic, sacred war against liberals.
Until this country understands this, sees them as the hopelessly brainwashed cult they are, and stops fucking indulging them, we are screwed.
