(11,243 posts)but that they were preparing for the "partial-birth" procedure to save Karen Santorum's life. Whatever really happened, the truth is, they were in a situation where they may have had to choose an abortion to save the mother's life, a decision they would need to make quickly. And yet Santorum continues to support super restrictive abortion policies that would interfere with the ability to make the quick and necessary decision.
I don't wish what their family experienced on anybody. The only thing that would have made it worse was needless government bureaucracy interfering with the individuals right to make life or death medical decisions and maybe causing them to lose both the child and the mother. But he supports laws that would do exactly that, even after being in the situation.
