In reply to the discussion: DU POLL: Does Policy or Ability to Win dictate your Primary Choice? [View all]marylandblue
(12,344 posts)28. I didn't say any of that, and it's clear you don't get it, but
then again, if you want to get it, you have to see other people as fully formed persons in their own right, with hopes, dreams and flaws, not mere "racist, sexist assholes." And even if they were racist sexist assholes, 46% of the electorate is PAINFULLY close to a majority for someone as manifestly unfit for office as Donald Trump. So even if Trump loses next time, but the underlying problems are not addressed, the path is cleared for a smarter more competent Trump to win a future election.
If I were so inclined and sufficiently skilled I know exactly how I would do it. That scares the crap out of me, because if I can see it, so can a lot of other people who are actually inclined to do it.

OP
As of today yes I think he has the best chance to win by the largest margin. That of course can

We must win as handily as possible considering all the tampering and the slim margin of victory

Beating Trump by the biggest margin possible will also have a down ballot effect

First of all "people" means at a minimum enough people in the states where we need them.

Differences in policy are relatively trivial because changes and compromises will happen

It's really hard to believe this poll from what I witness in the Primary forum. nt
