(58,785 posts)camps, where persecuted citizens are segregated in prison camps away from others, i.e., "concentrated" -- one form for the rest of the inmates' shortened lives, the other under generally humane conditions for the duration of a war, though it could have been longer. The huge difference is why the Japanese are usually said to have been in internment camps, not to somehow make it okay, but to facilitate understanding.
THESE detention camps are to hold people who have been rounded up to facilitate forced deportation. Again, there's nothing stopping people from calling them concentration camps, pretending Trump's purpose is to save the citizenry from their animalistic, rapist, criminal influences. Except to protect the term for when it might be needed.
