1. The recipe still calls for impeachment

Failure to open an impeachment inquiry, at the very minimum, implies that Congress, acting in its role as a coequal branch of government, tacitly approves of Trump’s conduct. No need to rush articles to a floor vote; just relentless, unyielding investigations and hearings, slowly roasting Trump and his minions to a juicy perfection.

This will put the GOP on the spot to declare whether they support Trump’s conduct, and may strengthen Weld, Amash, and any others who may oppose Trump in the primaries or run as third party.

Only then will the meal be ready to serve on November 3, 2020.
