(115,683 posts)of some media people who were just trying to read tea leaves. I have never believed it, for several reasons: (1) the fact that the documents and data seized from Roger Stone were described as "voluminous" and consisting of terabytes of electronically-stored material; (2) the fact that the term of the grand jury had been extended for another six months; and (3) investigations normally don't stop with indictments; they continue through trials and guilty pleas. Stone has just recently been indicted and his case is nowhere close to resolution. The Russian defendants will never be tried here, but there is still the matter of the mysterious foreign corporation that is trying to quash a subpoena, and that matter is likely to continue through the appellate process. While some cases have been spun off to other prosecutors, it seems like there's still too much going on in the OSC for it to be wrapped up next week, or any time soon.
