(3,922 posts)I'm 64, a few years younger than the OP.
I was at the later Vietnam rallies and marched, in NYC, for a end to the war.
I missed most of the civil rights demonstrations due to age.
It's time to take our stand!
It's time to pick up John Lewis, the Berrigan brothers, Martin Luther King, the rest of the Catonsville Nine, and everyone who marched , protested, fought, was beaten, sacrificed, and STOOD UP for decency, for democracy, for justice, and for humanity.
Nothing is easy and nothing stopped the great people who fought against injustice and tyranny. The suffragettes, the Pullman strikers, the farm workers, the blue collar workers of today who owe their existence to the labor movement - all who benefited from policies designed to help the American workers.
We are in the worst shape we have ever been. The POTUS is a conman, a charlatan, a functional idiot who has no empathy and no consideration for the average American.
Now they rule.
And now.....we fight.
Take to the barricades, shut it down!
Rid ourselves of this cancer - NOW!
