(81,220 posts)53. Good to hear, but it sounds like you need LOTS of it. But hopefully, nicely spaced out, too.
We know all about the torrents that come after brushfire season, when everything is dry and the ground doesn't have much to hold it in place. You guys need your top soil to stay where it is! I would hope you get doses of it with some drying-out time between dowsings. That way, the ground has a chance to absorb the water and you have less wasteful run-off.
Good to hear that the rain finally came, though! I hope the crops can be salvaged!
