That's why even the best automation is prone to human error, and that human error usually involves not having a human present.

I'm not so sure about this. One local Wal-Mart recently increased the number of scan & go lanes.

I try to avoid Walmart at all costs, but when I go to Target, I never use their self-checkouts.
