(14,180 posts)Yes, unfortunately that anger goes all the way back to the primary. When someone dared to challenge her. It wasn't so much that Bernie may have won, which he came surprisingly close even with the obstacles put in his way, but his biggest crime to many, IMO, was that he always topped the polls on trust and popularity, ahead of her.
And thus there was this giant blob called "the enemy" that was created, which was made up of anyone from anywhere that stood in the way, from far rightwing nazi groups, to Fox News, to Trumps team, to Bernie, Sarandon, and of course Stein. No distinction made between them. After she lost the CE vote, it was decided that everyone else must have been working for Trump and Putin, some way some how they must have exchanged notes. Even Steins efforts at a recount was pillared as some kind of trick play. If Hillary had won, (which she should have), Stein and her 1% of the vote would not even be discussed.
I'm not saying Stein does not have flaws, and maybe they could have had a better leader, but the Greens are another small voice from the left in the country that is awash in conservative media tropes. I just find it kind of sad and a waste of energy.
