8. I doubt that he worries about that sort of thing.

He's a long-time, experienced government guy. He knows how everything works, and likes his job. He's at retirement age, and probably has a good retired future ahead of him. I really don't think he is worried about his or his family's safety.

He seems like a process-oriented person to me. He focuses on the job at hand and gets people to do what they need to do to make that process move forward as smoothly as possible. That's what he does. And he's very good at it, too, no doubt.

In the end, a report will be issued, and he'll probably retire. Don't look for him to appear on TV news talk shows, either. He'll get the job done, as impartially as possible, and then will speak through the final report process. That's who he is and how he does things, as far as I can tell. I imagine that working for him on this project would be very interesting and very, very busy.
