Precinct Committeeman Algonquin 29; born April 1961, Galesburg, Knox County, IL. Son of editor/journalist J. Pete Creighton, Sr. and Marie-Therese Padilla de Creighton, from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Educated GHS Class 1979, Knox College '83. US Army July 1996 - December 2003. Combat veteran OIF, 19 March 2003 through approx. end of June 2003, flown back with unit on or around late July 2003. 5 years did service for State of Illinois in Dept. Mental Health, EMHC in Elgin, Kane Co IL. Served 3 years on board of AFSCME Local 26. Have been poet since approx. 1976; also have written essays & letters to people - elected & appointed officials & business people with intent to express opinions to help keep America as great as it ever was or hopes to be. Currently self-employed as materials handler/ recycler. On VA disability. Father to 2 teens, Hannah & Gareth. Currently working on what I hope to be first published chapbook of poetry.
