The Trump administration's ineptness and callous disregard has killed 150,000 Americans. So far.
Tuesday, November 3rd cannot come soon enough.

Bernie Sanders Is Asking for Masks for All
A national campaign to encourage mask wearing, including the distribution of free masks, would help to check the pandemic.Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont introduced legislation this week that directs the Trump administration to send three high-quality, reusable masks to every person in the United States, and would provide $5 billion to increase mask production. This is a good idea.
Wearing masks saves lives, and not just other peoples lives. Theres evidence that it limits the chances of catching the coronavirus. Wearing a mask might save your life, too. Sending masks to every American wont convince them all to wear a mask. It is not a corrective for the behavior of Representative Louie Gohmert, Republican of Texas, who has flaunted his refusal to wear a mask, and who said Wednesday that he had tested positive for the coronavirus. But distributing high-quality masks would provide Americans inclined to behave responsibly with masks that maximize health benefits.
And it would make it easier for those with doubts about masks to slip one on.
The legislation also directs the Trump administration to ensure that medical workers have a sufficient supply of the most effective protective masks, known as N95 masks. Its unfortunate that the Trump administration requires this kind of prodding. Ramping up of the domestic production of protective gear should have been an urgent national priority months ago. Instead, Americans have endured a familiar mix of bluster, denials and half measures.
The virus continues to spread freely here, even as other nations have brought it under control.

This is indeed a good idea.
And It's more than "unfortunate" that the Trump administration requires this kind of prodding, it's down right criminal.
Trump's narcistic incompetence is killing people.

Republican Party officials hid COVID-19 mask purchases by labeling them 'building maintenance' in federal disclosures
Think "building maintenance," and you probably imagine plumbing, a new coat of paint, or a replacement toilet-paper dispenser.
But when the Republican National Committee in June spent more than $14,000 on "building maintenance," none of its facilities were getting a face-lift.
Instead, the RNC purchased face masks designed to limit the spread of COVID-19, according to Insider interviews and a review of federal campaign-finance disclosures released earlier this week.
The RNC ordered the masks at a time when President Donald Trump and other prominent Republicans were refusing to cover their faces in public. The purchases show Republican leaders were taking the coronavirus more seriously than they'd been publicly letting on.

Of course the Republicans are disingenuous liars about the pandemic. They were actively discouraging people from wearing masks; they didn't care that this was causing needless deaths.
Trump's Tulsa Rally Didn't Draw a Big Crowd. But It Cost a Lot.
New campaign filings show that President Trumps campaign paid more than $2.2 million for the event, which drew a sparse crowd that disappointed his campaign.President Trump has held only one campaign rally since the pandemic swept across the country in March. It not only failed to fill the arena in Tulsa, Okla., it was also very expensive.
New campaign filings submitted Monday afternoon showed that Mr. Trumps campaign paid more than $2.2 million in event, facility and audio visual costs in June a month where the Tulsa event was his campaigns only major public-facing event.
Mr. Trump, whose spirits have long been buoyed by his rallies, had pushed a chance to speak before a cheering and packed crowd but the event, held as fears of the coronavirus were increasing, ultimately left much of the 19,000-person arena unfilled. The sparse crowd helped accelerate the demotion of his campaign manager, Brad Parscale, who had said the campaign fielded one million ticket requests.
The new filings show just how much Mr. Trumps campaign paid to rent the arena itself: $537,705.44 in facility rental payments to the BOK Center. But that fee was just the start.
The campaign then paid nearly $1 million in event staging fees between June 16 and the end of the month to eight different companies. The most went to Arcus Group, LLC, which received $673,906 in two payments for event staging, one a few days before the rally and another a few days after.
The campaign similarly made two payments totaling more than $426,000 to LMG, LLC, for audio visual services, right before and after the rally. The payments in the campaign filings do not specifically list that they were for Mr. Trumps Tulsa rally but he held no other major, political event for the public last month.
The Trump campaign declined to comment.

Joe Biden has sought to forward a singular idea: I care.
https://twitter.com/mviser/status/1285568726511824897Yes! Give us some more of that sweet sweet social democracy!
It's the only way we will get thru this pandemic and it's economic fallout. We have to get thru it all together.
Joe Biden will be facing enormous challenges immediately on being sworn in as president. The need for social justice, economic fairness, and managing the covid-19 pandemic will demand the most from Joe and all our national leadership, going back to a pre-Trump status quo simply is no longer adequate.
I am hopeful though, because I do believe Joe Biden cares. I firmly believe he has what it takes to be a transformative president.

Is Trump honest?
https://twitter.com/JohnJHarwood/status/128557567588641177666%, that's SIXTY-SIX PERCENT, of Americans say hell no.
Trump is going down. Keep the pressure on him anyway you can.
Let's make this an historic rejection of him and his presidency come Tuesday, November 3rd.

Only 8% of the police even live in the ENTIRE city of Minneapolis. That's a cause of this "us versus them" mentality amongst the police.
Covid-19 Spread Fastest by Teens and Tweens, Korea Study Finds
Source: MSN/Bloomberg
Older children are more likely to spread Covid-19 within a household than younger children and adults, according to a new study of 5,706 coronavirus patients in South Korea.
The researchers traced and tested nearly 60,000 people who had contact with the infected people and found that, on average, 11.8% of household contacts tested positive for Covid-19, according to the early release of a study published on the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.
For people who lived with patients between the ages of 10 and 19, 18.6% tested positive for the virus within about 10 days after the initial case was detected -- the highest rate of transmission among the groups studied. Children younger than 10 spread the virus at the lowest rate, though researchers warned that could change when schools reopen.
The study comes on the heels of an intensifying debate about whether, when and how schools should resume classes. Working parents around the world have been struggling to balance their own remote work with the added complication of school closures. There is intense pressure on political leaders. In the U.S., the Trump administration has threatened to withhold federal funds for local school districts that fail to reopen.
At the same time, virus rates have been rising again, even in places that thought theyd extinguished their outbreaks, and many teachers are wary of returning to the classroom. State data suggests the infection rates among children could also be far higher than the 2% reported by the CDC.
The South Korean study suggests that older children may be particularly contagious, although the researchers point out that household contacts could have contracted the virus elsewhere. Still, given the high rates of infection within families, the study called for more research to understand how to limit the spread of the virus at home.

So much for Gov. DeSantis (R) of Florida's claim that children don't get or spread the virus to any significant degree.
But, yeah, let's rush to open unprepared schools where we can't even provide each child with a mask.
I am over 65, the Republicans don't care if I die.
Look at the Republicans' response to the crisis:
Red States ignoring CDC guidelines and opening precipitously too soon.
The politicizing of wearing face masks.
Gov. Kemp (R) of Georgia RESCINDING Atlanta's Mayor Keisha Bottoms mask wearing mandate.
Gov. DeSantis (R) of Florida bragged about how quickly the state was able to reopen due to his great response to the pandemic and now Florida is the epicenter of the pandemic in the entire world. And still DeSantis declares that most people are hardly affected by the virus at all and the media is over hyping it for political purposes.
It all paints a clear picture. The Republicans just don't care if older people die.
They don't care that covid-19 hits older people the hardest, they don't care because they consider older Americans to be a surplus, unproductive segment of the population.
How Dickensian of them.
