He’s making demands of Trump to undermine our democracy, making him subvert the actions of our democratic process and harm our economy, national interests and standing in the world. Trump is stuck, he doesn’t want to actually harm the US, but has to do something to keep Putin happy. So he has decided to push the boundaries of his idiocy to places heretofore thought impossible. Being friendly with dictators isn’t enough anymore, so he goes full fascist, pulling words from Hitler’s speeches and playbook. He claims Biden and the Dems aren’t just socialists, but are full blown communists, fascists and pedophiles. Winning the Presidency isn’t his main goal, but rather wants to be a dictator from “day one”. He takes his practiced public persona, that of wild and unhinged, a loose cannon, to new and truly deranged heights.
He is somewhat surprised that his MAGA followers don’t care, in fact they love him and his positions even more. Even the old line Repubs refuse to desert him, something he thought was beyond the pale. Lindsey Graham, for Chrissake, even continues to support him. He is now meeting with advisors on a plan to get out of this predicament and save the country without the tapes becoming public. Their advice so far is that his only option is to just get crazier. Actually shooting somebody, biting off the heads of chickens, and nudity have all been suggested.
