Democrats should run ads on McConnell

Mitch McConnell today proposed cuts to social security, Medicare and Medicaid.
All democratic senatorial candidates should spent the rest of the campaign on that and get the message out.

Is Rick Scott deliberately slow in updating the Hurricane Michael death toll?

It's hard not to think that Republican Governor Scott (engaged in a close battle for the Senate against Bill Nelson) is dragging his feet on purpose if we read this new article in a Tallahassee newspaper entitled "In Florida, a slow wait for news on hurricane’s death toll":

"The state has officially acknowledged just two deaths so far – and one death was in northeast Florida, far from the ground-zero fury of the Category 4 storm."

...
Also,
"But both Long and Gov. Rick Scott, however, sidestepped questions late Sunday* after they returned from an all-day trip to some of the hard-hit communities."

...

The state is saying that the medical examiner had no water or power for a long time so he hasn't been able to count much:

"Part of the problem state emergency officials say is that the medical examiner office responsible for certifying deaths in several of the hardest-hit counties was without power or water until Monday."

How convenient. Is Rick Scott waiting until the day after the midterms to issue an updated count?
By the way, the FEMA chief has a motive for secrecy add well. After all, this is Trump's FEMA.

FEMA not doing much to help those affected by hurricane Michael

Complaints of lack of help are starting to trickle in:

Down the street, Barbara Sanders stood outside her daughter’s unit, where she had come to stay during the hurricane.

“We’re not getting any help,” she said. “We need food. It’s just crazy.”

Sanders said that not a single relief agency had come by to check on them. Only the police had come and it was to tell everyone to leave. “They told us there’s nothing they can do and it’s gonna take a long time to rebuild,” Sanders said.

Breaking: Dems +13 in generic Post-Kavanaugh WaPo/ABC poll

And here is the result in the generic ballot. Don’t forget to vote though.

Among likely voters in the new survey, the margin is 13 points. Historically, that kind of gap foreshadows gains, possibly substantial, for the Democrats.

AP: Trump's links to Saudi Billionaires under scrutiny

As the world awaits Trump's reaction to the torture and murder by dismemberment of a critic of the Saudi regime, Trump's ties to the kingdom raise concern that he will do nothing to punish the culprits, because they give him lots of money.

AP ( October 13, 2018):

“I love the Saudis,” Trump said when announcing his presidential run at Trump Tower in 2015. “Many are in this building.”
...
“The Saudis are funneling money to him,” said former federal ethics chief Walter Shaub, who is advising a watchdog group suing Trump for foreign government ties to his business. That undermines “confidence that he’s going to do the right thing when it comes to Khashoggi.”
...
In 1991, as Trump was teetering on personal bankruptcy and scrambling to raise cash, he sold his 282-foot Trump yacht “Princess” to Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin-Talal for $20 million, a third less than what he reportedly paid for it.
