Towns see economic boon from more private ICE lockups

Job creation thanks to this regime's horrendous policies of locking more and more people up.

Disgusting! Welcome to Donald Trump's America.

***********

When President Trump campaigned on a pledge to crack down on illegal immigration, the nation's big private prison companies saw opportunity.

And they weren't wrong. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is currently seeking new contracts for 3,000 new bed spaces in immigration detention within 180 miles of Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis and Salt Lake City. And just in June, ICE asked for information from companies that could potentially accommodate 15,000 new family immigration lockups.

Good for you, Columbus!

Columbus is suing President Donald Trump and his administration for what the city and other plaintiffs say is an unconstitutional sabotage of the Affordable Care Act.

The lawsuit alleges that Trump has violated the “take care” clause of the U.S. Constitution, which requires the president to “take care that the laws be faithfully executed” while they remain law.

So far, attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act have failed, and Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein said Trump’s actions and words show that he has defied that provision.

“His own actions, his own executive orders, his own words are doing everything but faithfully executing,” Klein told The Dispatch. “In fact, what he’s saying and doing is the exact opposite. He’s trying to sabotage Obamacare.”

The U.S. Department of Justice declined to comment through a spokesman.
