But with a lot of churches in AL pushing for Moore...

it's a hard call. On the other hand, perhaps enough Republican women will have enough heart to go against their husbands and preachers, and hit the right button when confined to that voting booth. If not, they will be carrying this black mark for all their lives.

Some in the UK probably want to know....

if Russian assets that flooded the British public on social media had access to those data bases.

I hope the UK has an equivalent to our Robert Mueller!

This will make tRump furious....

Because he or Putin didn't proclaim it first.

ISIS actually will be with us for a long time in fragmented form, but I take this announcement to mean as an active territorial occupation in their region.

One big issue to me though...

is that it interferes with the process of justice, just like Trump's improper tweets after a major crime. It is, however, very unfortunate that many of the incidents that have come to light are beyond the statutes of limitation for prosecution.

Additionally, I do believe many of us males (at least on the left) are having a lot of thoughtful reflections and trying to pass some of the things we've learned to our friends and kids.

Some of this may be orchestrated.

Just occurred to me that with Repugs having all that voter database info, if they want to dredge up stuff on a Democrat, all they have to do is research people that knew him/her from their younger years, look up their political affiliation and start calling any Repugs on the list. Almost anyone has a little hell raising in their past, so it wouldn't take long to dig up dirt and gossip.

Typical Repug bait and switch.

They intentionally load these bills with sacrificial stuff so that after some of those items are dropped, they can act like they have compromised. I'm not buying it.

Repugs - stop putting chocolate icing on that cow pie! ......

Where we need to go low is in attacking GOP policy.

We need to implement new and LOUD ways to call them out on this tax bill and their destruction of our government. We can't effectively play their tit-for-tag games in the social and morals games because they have the bully pulpit, a cable news channel and hundreds of talk radio stations - not to mention several very powerful think tanks that create the feeds. Democrats throwing shit against the wall on social media is a waste of good electrons and time.

Repugs are experts at this game. They create a constant head-spinning feed of lies and distortions from dozens of different directions every day to keep the public numb and confused, and they have the money to keep the machine running forever. Most liberal counter-attacks are so diluted, they are simply not effective - and usually come after the fact.

I suspect our most efficient means of counter-attack would be highly targeted, laser-precise ads on hot button issues such as cuts to education, destruction of workplace protections and environmental damage. Along with grassroots support (us), if we could somehow enlist the help of a group of wealthy liberals such as Tom Steyer to create ads on TV and in newspapers, and perhaps billboards, that might start to erode the right-wing machine.

Nuf sed, rant done.

Sessions makes a total mockery of his office.

Even above the president, our attorney general should be a shining example of respect for US law and justice, both in their personal and professional lives.

We now have a president, vice president, many cabinet members and an attorney general that believe our laws and system of justice do not apply to them because their holy GOP philosophy trumps all laws and morals.

They must somehow be removed from office ASAP.

Another way to look at it is through the psychology.

Marylandblue explained the mechanics of it well, but I also see libertarianism as a mental disorder. Libertarians such as Rand and Ron Paul, along with many Republicans, show little empathy or sympathy for their fellow man and so could be classified as psychotics. Many Repugs such as Trump show clear signs of being outright psychopaths.

Out of curiosity years ago around the start of the Iraq war, I read up on Libertarianism after stumbling on the web site antiwar.com (because I was anti-war). The site turned out to be a hotbed for Libertarianism. The more I read, the more it hit me that these guys are extremely naive, and totally in denial of the human condition (primarily in the area of human emotions).

When I read the philosophy, the phrase "no way in hell this will work in practice" keeps popping in my head, so it's completely pie in the sky thinking. Personally, I refuse to waste my time reading Ayn Rand novels.

These are three of their web sites, but be forewarned - it may make your head spin. Like GOP policy, much of it is dressed-up to seem normal!

Forwarding the one on education to...

...my daughter, who is a 5th grade teacher that spends out of her own pocket every year for supplies.....due to state GOP tax cuts and hence reductions in education spending for my daughter's school.

This is really going to make America great again......greatly uneducated!

Thanks again N2DOC, for helping us stay sane.
