Trump's people are all serial liars.

They all have lied in their normal course of business and politics all their careers without being held to account, and they consider it an art form.

It's rewarding to see some of them having to learn there's value and art in telling the truth.

Thanks for that info.

Their catalogs have been hitting the recycle bin immediately for a long time. Now, I'm going to send them a nastygram with a Roy Moore reference to try and get off their list. Don't even want to see them any longer.

No wealthy family should be able to influence an election with this sort of magnitude, and especially not across state lines.

In summary, appeal to the worst of human nature.

Greed, fear and resentment, pumped to the level of feeling helpless. Then, tell them only tRump can fix these things.

The irony is that there's no factual basis for triggering these emotions. We must also point out the lies behind those appeals.

However, probably best to approach one lie at a time, and keep a factual bucket list.

Yes, and it's mentally hard on us old-timers.

Nice to hear from someone that understands. I've been a "Mr. Fix it" type all my life and now hardly anything can be repaired at component level. No way in hell I could repair at board level now, even if I had the schematic and parts.

I switched to industrial controls for the last years of my career and things were better there for a while, but now it's the same way but far more expensive. Not unusual to trash a $2K circuit board or $600 controller without a second thought. I'm glad I'm retired now and can just worry about fixing simple things like kitchen sinks - but still enjoy tinkering in my electronics shop, LOL.

The overnight fad nature of consumer products and our throwaway culture may come to an end sooner than one might think, as scarce resources could result in real wars to capture them. The rest of the world is slowly learning to not let the West take anything they want for little or nothing and leaving behind an environmental mess.

The next 100 years will be interesting for the next generations. They may need to learn a more simple way of life.

The 2nd tier Twitter writers were brought in for the holiday.

They should have done more homework on the F-35.

And, any military hardware being ordered now was probably initiated during Obama's years.

The Dolt can't even hire good Twitter writers. Sad.

Mme. Defarge, Happy 70th Birthday to us!

We're both children of November, 1947.

As a man, your post brings bittersweet memories. I was raised by folks in the country (farmers and timber men) that survived the Great Depression. They were all very poor and everyone was brought to their knees and after that, many of them went to war. Compared to today's consumerist society, I don't know how they survived. Both my parents only made it through 8th grade, and my mom got to ride the mule to school!

I'm describing this because I'm forever grateful for those men and women who taught me to be a gentleman at all costs, and to be kind and unselfish. We were also taught that in church back then, along with good manners in school.

In this day and age, it's increasingly difficult to maintain these standards because the world is trending to an everyone for themselves, dog-eat-dog attitude. And, anyone that tries to be a lady or gentleman is trampled. I just hope we all survive this time, and perhaps somehow reverse those trends.

Thank you for your kind, encouraging words. Thanksgiving should be a day of reflection and humility, and you are following that tradition!

Thanks, Syringis.

This is supposed to be our national day of gratitude and humility, or Thanksgiving.

We all thank you for being our good friend from across the big pond, and we're thankful for all your great input to Democratic Underground!

Congratulation on 3285 days!

I just crossed 27 years doing ODAT. A lot of that was while traveling on business, carrying my books along and the serenity prayer for tough times.

Above all, keep it simple and pass it on. Be sure to let us know when you get that 10-year token!

I'm really tiring of these high-profile actors pontificating.

It's sickening to me to see an ex-public servant or any other high-profiler hiding behind an eloquent quotation, just to feel elitist above some bad actor.

Mr. Comey, why not come out in plain language and say what we all know? - Both tRump and Moore are sexual perverts, and neither should hold public office.
