Oh, to have been a fly on the wall at that place!

Then, hand them a brochure that tells them the TRUTH about Benghazi.

Everything is upside down in the bizarro GOP world.

Losses are wins, insults are gifts, etc.

Hypocrisy and lying are Christian GOP moral values apparently, from covenants cleverly hidden deep in scripture.

A huge neon sign in front of the White House flashing "loser, loser, loser".

One of several words that infuriates him. And, never, never, never call him president.

Absolutely, DFW...

and I hope it wakes America up as much as Brexit has the British, but I'm not very positive at this time. Looks like we'll own the World Championship of Dumb trophy for a while, considering the global impact.

We're certainly willing to share it with the UK, though.

PS: Thanks for your periodic updates on one of our favorite people, Howard Dean.

LOL, Syringis - I enjoy watching the EU political games from the US.

I live in the states in Kentucky, and a southern hillbilly originally from Tennessee. Got to travel on business once to Europe (Germany, near Lake Constance) and really enjoyed it.

I think as a diversion from our current train wreck congress and administration, I really enjoy reading about European politics, and particularly GB. I also enjoy the editorial, travel and science sections in the BBC and Guardian, along with a few others around the globe.

From that distance, it appears to me that the people of GB may have made one of the biggest mistakes of their history and it's (hopefully) a learning experience for us. It just never ceases to amaze me how a single public vote could carry a result of that magnitude!

Like Trump said about healthcare, "who knew it would be this complicated?". I keep reading more and more complications like Gibraltar, Ireland, and expat benefit issues. What an endless mess.

Of course, I'm being a bit hypocritical considering what's happening here after our last election!

Thanks for that update, TomSlick.

I was also raised in the SB church in TN, during the Al Gore, Sr. era. Although I've pulled away from the church in my later years, I'm still fond of those days and the old-fashion country fellowship.

All the churches I recall from back then were fairly consistent in teachings and attitudes, and I never recall politics mentions once in my years there. From what I hear from folks back there, things have changed a lot, but maybe not in all the churches. After the Southern strategy of the Nixon years, the entire political climate began to shift, and now it's almost all red.

Honestly, I was never aware of the autonomy from the SBC you mentioned, but it wasn't discussed much back then. My single foray back to church here in KY was back in the early 90's, and unfortunately I had a bad experience with that one. Perhaps I should have shopped around more.

As a side note, I have the highest respect for Jimmy Carter and the work he and Rosalynn are still doing. What an inspiration!

Thanks for the great 'toons, Syringis.

I love Steve Bell and Martin Rowson via the Guardian, too:

Note the one on tRump from Steve Bell!

There's never been a more important time for Democrats....

to support a unity of purpose, and one singular purpose at that. We all know that that objective is.

Right now, we need hot-button talking points and simplified policy positions that will help to swing millions of voters and get them off the couch. Get that out on TV, radio, billboards, placards and hand-outs until the public is notified of our way of doing business.

Everyone hears and respects your grievances but divisiveness is not the image we need to project to the American public or the international community at this time in history.
