KY_EnviroGuy's JournalMany essential oils and some seed oils are powerful anti-virals.
For example, Tea Tree oil is known to be a very powerful killer of many bacteria and viruses from the past. Others of note are ravensara, clove, thyme, camphor, eucalyptus, fenugreek, lime, peppermint, oregano and pine oils.
The problem is, just like many powerful home chemical products, few if any have been tested on this specific virus.
I suggest studying these two papers, two of many available on-line from credibly institutions around the globe that outline some of the current research to date:

I would not make specific recommendations to anyone regarding any product - natural or synthetic - with this virus because it is a novel virus which means it's brand-new to science. So, our choices are our own and we make them at our own risk.

One word: psychopathy.
From an evolutionary viewpoint, my amateur theory is that we all have a touch of psychopath in us from our primitive ancestors, many of which had to be brutal assholes to survive.
Some of us have far more of that genetic trait than others. The ones plagued with a moderate degree of it in the general population are mostly Republicans (or Tories in the UK) and those with a high degree of it are either in prison or are corporate officers.
However, those of us with much lesser effects of that genetic trait are Democrats.

Man allowed to sing outside his love's nursing home windowUpdated: 7:47 PM EDT Mar 19, 2020

He visits her daily and on Wednesday decided to do something special. He rode his bike with a guitar in tow and planned to serenade her outside her window. Bohld claims his first request to sing to Mary Lou through her window was flatly denied, even though he did not ask to have her window opened.
"I said: 'No, I dont expect you to open the window. I have a manly voice. I can be heard through the glass,'" Bohld said. Massachusetts officials have imposed new rules for visitors at hospitals and nursing homes amid the coronavirus outbreak, which include a no-visitor policy inside the facility.
Touched my heart deeply on a cold gloomy day, as many no longer have anyone to serenade.

Boris Johnson's libertarian views behind hesitancy to lock down Britain
Coronavirus: Johnson's libertarian views behind hesitancy to lock down BritainThe prime minister sets the bar high for getting the state involved in people's everyday lives," a former spokesman said.

But despite dire warnings that his health service may be overwhelmed Prime Minister Boris Johnson resisted forcing his population to adopt the types of lockdown measures seen in the United States and across Europe until Friday, when he announced that all pubs, cafes, restaurants, nightclubs and gyms were to close down for the forseeable future.
+++++++
Until Friday, Johnson had asked not told people to stop nonessential contact, to avoid bars, restaurants and theaters, and to self-isolate if they or one of their family members has symptoms. Only this week did he close schools for all but the children of essential workers.
This policy can partly be explained by the prime minister's own strong sense that the government should not tell people what to do unless absolutely necessary, according to Guto Harri, who was a spokesman for Johnson when he was mayor of London.
"He's not some anarchist libertarian, but he does approach things on the basis that you really have to set the bar quite high to justify the state getting involved in people's everyday lives," Harri told NBC News by telephone Friday.
"It's not an absolute, but he does have to be persuaded that drastic measures are justified," he added. "He also has a more benign view of human nature than the assumption that everyone needs to be treated like a child and be told by daddy what to do."

Restaurants are getting desperate and innovative.
In the last few days, I've gotten emails from several local restaurants offer things like curbside pickup and even delivery from places I never dreamed of....Cracker Barrel and Texas Roadhouse.
Sadly, that does not guarantee what's inside the bag is safe.
Many others have sent emails to assure customers their practices are safe......as best they know.
I told my son who I'm isolated with if we get carry out, it must be something we can reheat to a point known to neutralize this virus but we have not yet got brave enough to try anything.
I'm thinking pizza or pulled-pork BBQ........

Corsair Distillery is making hand sanitizer out of gin and is coordinating dock side pickups for anyone interested at its Nashville headquarters. The hand sanitizer even follows world health organization guidelines.
Everyone wants to give back and help their community and right after the tornado, the tornado people were able to come out and help the community and volunteer, Corsair Distillery owner Derek Bell said. But, with the coronavirus people dont really know how to volunteer and so we started asking what do people need help with and people cant find hand sanitizer in stores.
Corsair Distillery is now looking for a way to put the sanitizer in smaller bottles. Therefore, they are asking for people to reach out to them as soon as possible.
All bottles are free.
Nice of them to do that. After all, WHO says ethyl alcohol is the most effective neutralizer for this virus after soap and water.

Thousands partied at this Miami Beach festival. Nine tested positive....
Note: I am not posting this to be in any way critical of the LGBT community, as their behavior is no different from tens of thousands of beach party attendees for spring break. Instead, this is to emphasize the outright denial so many public officials have exhibited as demonstrated in the interviews cited in this article.Thousands partied at this Miami Beach festival. It is really difficult to make those kind of pronouncements broadly, said Dr. Nancy Messonnier, the director of the CDCs National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases. So the decisions, for example, in Seattle may look quite different than the decisions being made in a location right now where there is not community spread.
+++++++
Regarding WPF, we made the most informed decision at the time, following official guidance available at the time, Carey said in a statement Monday. Information and circumstances have changed rapidly since WPF.
Miami Beach leaders stood behind the Task Forces decision not to cancel, declaring the city open for business. When Ultra Music Festival canceled its March concerts, which itself was controversial among fans, Miami Beach City Manager Jimmy Morales said the city would try to give Ultra fans something to do.
City-sponsored pool parties were considered at a March 5 meeting. Mass cancellations were not.
A blanket freeze on everything we do here in Miami Beach or a shutting down of business, to me, that at this point is not warranted, Commissioner Mark Samuelian said.
Mayor Dan Gelber and two city commissioners attended the festivals welcome reception. Gelber demonstrated a hands-free greeting attendees could use to limit transmission of the virus.
+++++++
But for Winter Party Festival organizers, the worst may not be here yet.
Symptoms can take up to 14 days to show, meaning someone who caught COVID-19 at Winter Party Festival may not even show symptoms until next week.
I'm speechless........ ..........

Sharing some little silver linings....
* A sweet dove is cooing to me outside as I sit reading the news with my coffee.
* My 35 YO son just finished his quarter in college and aced all three of his finals.
* My daughter and granddaughter loves the books and artist kit I sent them via Amazon to help pass the time as schools are closed.
* My neighborhood is the quietest it's been in many, many years (I'm a highly sensitive person living in a redneck hood).
And (trumpets, please)....from The Guardian UK:
* Irish planners reject Trump golf resort's plan to build a wall. Officials say proposed 38,000-tonne sea barrier could damage sand dunes at Doonbeg resort.
Just sharing a tiny bit of feel-good on a blue day..........
If this doesn't shake our nation into reality, nothing will. Heartbreaking.
Our condolences go out to their survivors and their friends.
This triggers some emotions in me especially, as my 73 YO wife died last fall and the bottom line result was she had a rare (and unknown to us) genetic twist from birth which caused her to have a fatal reaction to some drugs given her in the hospital for a kidney problem. She would have normally recovered from that problem had it not been for the reaction.
Now, we're trying to get all of her siblings and our kids to be tested for that genetic oddity so they are aware and forewarned for any future health problems they may have.
This makes me curious if something similar to that could have happened here. I truly hope the autopsies are very thorough and find the cause. This is a brand-new virus to science and we'll be learning much more about it as time passes.
