The grid is what gets the power from point-to-point, starting at the source or sources. You did stir my thinking, though. Don't know if it would be feasible, but wind would be a potential primary source and solar as secondary, then maybe gas-fired turbines third. Wind farms require locations with lots of steady wind and suitable sea floor.

There probably is not enough spare usable land in PR to depend entirely on solar - which requires tremendous acreage. That would also require massive energy storage facilities to buffer the system at night.

So, the most viable and efficient system must be designed based on many factors including industrial demand and folk's ability to pay. I would guess PR will do well just to get its basic distribution infrastructure rebuilt based on traditional generation, then see what private investments or government funds are available for a better future.

For emergencies, there are barge-mounted generating units made that can create quite large amounts of power, and I believe they are usually oil or natural gas fired. They've been deployed to storm-ravaged areas before but I don't know about availability.

If anyone deserves low-cost energy generation, it's Puerto Rico, right now. Unfortunately, it cannot be done quickly.

Prepare for genetic indexing, too.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit to someday see a requirement to be in a genetic database, based on some lame excuse tied to health or religion. That's a big fad with right-wingers right now.

It's flat wrong to speculate.

There's not a human on this planet that can say with absolute certainty what caused this man to do this heinous act. Our medical profession cannot diagnose a living person with mental issues with absolute certainty. That's because we don't have tools with absolute precision to diagnose human brain functions and may never have.

So, why on earth would we - or even professionals - think we could diagnose someone that's dead?

Our MDs and psychiatrists use the experience they have to "propose" a mental diagnosis, and then literally experiment with various drugs and/or therapy and carefully observe the results. Then, they make adjustments and changes to the meds, and keep trying until some acceptable result is achieved. In other words, it's a trial and error process - but with vast experience to guide the process.

This sort of speculative after-the-fact diagnostics can actually be damaging to those who might need these medications, but read this noise on-line and instead, back away from treatment.

IMO, the Hill.com should retract their speculative dialog.

Yes, and I agree he is very racist and elitist, as his history demonstrates.

What I was referring to is the very intentional lies he tells - even in front of those affected - that serve no purpose (that I can see) other than to throw red meat to his base (as Hillary said today).

One could even argue that he could actually expand his voter base by being kind and supportive to these destitute folks. The shear coldness baffles me - and I often see that expressed in overseas media, too.
