PR Generation Potential, Pre-storm

This is a summary of pre-storm generation potential capacity (not necessarily availability). I think the data is a couple of years old, and have no idea how much was damaged during the storm:

Raw data from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puerto_Rico_Electric_Power_Authority

Potential Generating Capacity:

Coal: 454MW
Heavy fuel oil: 2584MW
Diesel: 1611MW
Natural Gas: 510MW
Wind: 101MW
Solar: 73MW
-------------
Total: 5333MW

Percentages:

Heavy fuel oil, Diesel and Natural Gas: 88.2%
Coal: 8.5%
Wind: 1.9%
Solar: 1.4%

So, they are almost totally dependent on fossil fuels and only have scratched the surface with renewables.

Have not yet found demand data to see actual usage levels vs. generation capacity.

Pots and Kettles.

Redefining hubris every day.

Would be nice to see....

a bunch of progressive businesses refusing to sell goods and services to churches. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

That would be my second choice after eliminating their tax exempt status.

LOL, these days make me wish I could still drink.

Nothing like a big slug of vodka & soda to "activate your DANGEROUS-LIES receptors".

My theory on the cause of all these storms is that Trump and his administration sucks. He sucks so bad, all the ill winds around the globe are being drawn toward US shores.

Afraid of law suits and mass recriminations.

Before, tRump only had his lawyers to punish critics. Now, he has the bully pulpit, plenty of lawyers, Faux News, RW talk radio and millions of social media followers to do his mud slinging.

What more could a dictator ask for?

Would make anyone think twice.

Amazes me, too.

All of these high fliers he's put in cabinet positions have egos the size of a hay barn, so there must be constant conflict. Would love to be a fly on the wall hearing the private chats with their confidants!

This cannot end well.

Laffy Kat, someone turned up my knobs, LOL

Most of my senses seem to have been cranked up at notch or two, and it must be genetic. My sense of touch, smell, sight and hearing (in particular) have always been keen. Some have moderated as I've aged, and around 40-ish, my almost perfect vision started to weaken.

There are certain chemicals I'm highly sensitive to the smell of as well, including one of the vitamins or minerals in multivitamins, of all things!

As you know, these high sensitivities can be a blessing or a curse!

Carefully orchestrate show.

It's obvious he changes completely when in a red zone - especially where he has property, all carefully planned by his minders.

In Vegas (red zone): Full of sympathy and support, very scripted with little off-the-cuff. Has property interests there.

Puerto Rico (blue zone): Rabid asshole. Mean spirited and cutting, no sympathy and conditional support. No financial interests there.

I'm super sensitive to certain sounds, too.

One of my best friend's dogs barking will give me a headache in about 10-seconds. I can hear trains coming long before others do.

Anytime I accidentally hear tRumps' voice, it is instantly turned off. I think if I were forced to listen for more than a minute, I would become physically ill.

Thanks for posting this - was beginning I was the only one, LOL.

Out of five direct family, none smoke now.

For many years, four of the five smoked (me, the worst at 50 years). The wife and I were raised in tobacco country in the 50s and 60s, where probably 80% of the men smoked. If women did, they hid it.

We all quit around five years ago using e-cigs, and still enjoy them. We all use the original-style small e-cigs and keep any disturbance or visibility to others to an absolute minimum. E-cigs saved our lives, IMO.
