What's with all the Gabbard ads? When will DU officially disclaim her?

A decision needs to be made soon (I should clarify: I "hope" so, for the good of this forum). It feels divisive to continue including her as a legit Democrat given her recent positions, her appearances on Trump TV, and especially, her questioning the legitimacy of the impeachment inquiry.

Not only that, but many of us are seeing nothing but "Tulsi" ads at the top of our screens (yes, I happily donate to DU if I weren't forced to join PayPal, but I refuse to support that organization, and it's beside the point). IMO it's dangerous for these ads to be on our forum. They attempt to legitimize and normalize her. Anyone mildly paying attention can see that she's not normal.

Finally, all of us who dare to speak out on the subject are technically breaking the DU rules not to bash a Dem public figure. I fully support this rule under normal circumstances. Again, Gabbard is anything but normal. She's already announced she's not seeking reelection; which is strong evidence that she does plan to run as a 3rd party candidate. We all know the danger that poses.

At the risk of being flamed by fellow DUers, and even flagged or removed from my beloved DU, I'm asking the moderators to denounce Gabbard and stop posting her ads.

On edit: Thanks for the many tips about getting rid of ads. I should have been clearer that my complaint was not about ads per se, more a concern that no other candidates seem to have ads on this site--none that I've seen anyway, only her. And I found a way to donate to DU without using paypal, so thanks!! I'm really grateful for this forum; it's crazy out there.

White House Threatens Turkey With Crippling Sanctions

WASHINGTON — The Trump administration on Friday belatedly threatened new sanctions against Turkey that officials said could cripple Turkey’s economy in response to its military offensive against Kurds in northern Syria.

President Trump will sign an executive order giving the Treasury Department new powers to punish Turkish government officials if Turkey targets ethnic and religious minorities in its operations against the Kurds. The White House also warned that if any Islamic State fighters being held in prisons in the area were allowed by Turkey to escape, the United States would respond forcefully.

“We can shut down the Turkish economy if we need to,” the Treasury secretary, Steven Mnuchin, said in a briefing at the White House.
The Trump administration said, however, that it was not yet moving ahead with any new sanctions against Turkey.

At this point, what do you think will be the outcome of Trump impeachment proceedings?

Here are the likely options as I see it:

1. House inquiry does not result in impeachment vote (extremely unlikely but who knows?)
2. House votes to impeach but Senate acquits or avoids a vote altogether (most likely scenario, IMO)
3. Senate convicts Trump and Pence becomes POTUS (only likely if something drastic happens)
4. At some point before Senate conviction vote, Trump resigns (not a chance in hell for that narcissistic a-hole IMO)
5. Other outcome?

Most of my (non-DU) friends are afraid to even be hopeful.

I know some say there's another option: Pence & Trump get impeached and Pelosi becomes POTUS, but as I understand it, the timing would have to be such that both are removed at the same time. Otherwise whoever's POTUS can name a new VP. And I DO think there's a long line of bootlicking thugs who would take the job.

check out nurturedbynature.org -- It's a non-profit rescue/education/conservation group near San Diego, and they do amazing things (like working with Make-A-Wish kids). There's very limited public encounters to help defray costs.

Defying Trump Administration, Calif. Offers Federal Workers Unemployment Benefits

California Gov. Gavin Newsom says the Trump administration has told states they can't offer unemployment benefits to federal employees who are required to report to work without pay during the government shutdown.

Newsom called a letter sent to states by the U.S. Department of Labor "jaw-dropping and extraordinary" as he met with TSA workers at the Sacramento International Airport Thursday afternoon. "So, the good news is, we're going to do it, and shame on them."

The governor explained that California will offer the workers unemployment coverage, despite the federal government telling the state it can't do so for workers still on the job. Newsom says he believes California is on strong legal footing.
