Nadler presses ahead with impeachment probe as Pelosi keeps door open

Source: CNN

"The House Judiciary Committee is now engaged in a full-blown investigation and legal fight with the goal of deciding whether to recommend articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump by the end of the year, according to Democratic officials involved in the effort. Recent court filings and public statements by top Democrats point to a dramatic escalation after lawmakers debated internally for months over mounting an impeachment inquiry into the President."

"As additional House Democrats continue to call for the House Judiciary Committee to launch an impeachment inquiry — which more than half the caucus now supports — Democratic sources say the issue is essentially moot since what the panel is doing is basically that: investigating whether Trump should be impeached."

"House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler backs an impeachment inquiry and has made clear in a series of steps and public statements that he is actively considering recommending articles of impeachment in an attempt to remove Trump from office, something the House made clear in a new lawsuit to force former White House counsel Don McGahn to testify."

"Pelosi has shifted her tone over impeachment in recent weeks -- and aides say she's green-lit the language in the House lawsuits that contend the committee is considering voting on whether to impeach the President. She has long contended the House needs to be methodical in its approach, but has consistently batted away talk that the chamber's goal was to impeach Trump, arguing such a move would be divisive and ultimately unsuccessfully since two-thirds of the GOP-led Senate would need to vote to remove Trump from office."

McConnell says he will not call the Senate back for gun control vote.

My, my, what a surprise. OK, now it falls off the front page until the next one, then the one after that, then the "biggest shooting yet", etc.

CA Gov says gender 'missing in the national conversation' about shootings

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) on Monday called for gender to be part of the conversation about mass shootings given that shooters are most often men."

"These shootings overwhelmingly - almost exclusively - are males, boys, men. I do think that is missing in the national conversation," Newsom said at an emergency meeting on the state's response to mass shootings, according to Politico."

"If there was anything more obvious, I don't know what is," he added at the meeting with school, health and safety officials. "I think that goes deep to the issue of how we raise our boys to be men, goes deeply to values that we tend to hold dear - power, dominance, aggression over empathy, care and collaboration."

"Newsom called for a more in-depth discussion on gender and violence."

IMPEACHMENT INQUIRY - we can do it!

Start an impeachmemt inquiry now! Get your reps to move ln this! 118 Congressmembers are on board. Let's get 100% by Sept 9th.

This is IMPEACHMENT SUMMER! https://indivisible.org/resource/impeachment-inquiry-event-toolkit

Find an event, map here...https://indivisible.org/events

"We need to start an impeachment investigation not just because Trump obstructed justice in the Mueller investigation, but also because he is obstructing Congress’s efforts to conduct oversight of his administration. In over 20 separate investigations, Trump has sought to block requests for testimony, documents, and other materials that could help shed light onto his corruption and cruelty. This goes well beyond “executive privilege,” and into the realm of outright disregard for the checks and balances that define our government."

1. Focus on your representative.

2. Plan, or show up to, something public.

3. Don’t underestimate a small group of constituents with signs

4. If there’s no public event, show up to the district office

5. Get creative, but keep it simple.

6. Alert the media.

WE MUST ACT NOW! WE CAN DO IT! Indivisible has been key to getting the House to flip to blue. Don't take the Summer off...there is too much at stake! RESIST! Persist! Peace.

American Swamp on MSNBC (Trump, inc)

Has anyone else seen this show. This is the first episode I have seen and I feel sick....really sick! There is a taste of throw up in my mouth I am so disgusted with the vile cretin and his spawn. This is reminding me of all the terrible things he has already done. The last few years have been a blur. Too much anti-American behavior from an illegitimate POTUS is going to give me more nightmares.

Stay angry and RESIST America! Call your reps, go to town halls, protest, boycott, participate in civil disobedience!!!!!

"Arulanandam added, “The NRA is committed to the safe and lawful use of firearms by those exercising their Second Amendment freedoms. We will not participate in the politicizing of these tragedies but, as always, we will work in good faith to pursue real solutions that protect us all from people who commit these horrific acts.”
