Hugh_Lebowski's Journalthe black keys - lo/hi (studio - 2019) sadly just a single, no new album yet
Groovy little jam, I think it bodes well for the next album, whenever it comes ...
david gilmour - there's no way out of here/cry from the street (studio - 1978)
Posting again, just cause I posted them on another thread ... and then I had to revisit them 3 times ... each ... really loud ... even though I've heard 'em both a million times ... two songs from Dave's 1978 solo record ... that really should've been Pink Floyd songs ... cause they KICK ASS ...
Somewhat interesting 'film schools' videos as well to accompany ... enjoy what I call 'Lost Floyd Classics' ... (yeah, yeah, there's no way out of here is technically a cover, but who cares!)
WAAAAAARRRRRRRIIIIIIIOOOOOORRRRRSSSSSSS!!!!
That whole series was just COLD, man.
3 times in a ROW they go down by 15-18 points ... and win all 3?
JUST BRUTAL.
Tonight, in a Game 4 with a 3-0 lead ... a game the Warriors could've easily afforded to lose, Dray and Steph BOTH pull out triple Doubles, first time in NBA Playoff History two players on one team have ever achieved this? Seriously?
Also, first time in the last 53 years in the NBA, since the 1957-1966 Celtics ... that a team makes it to 5 straight NBA Finals ... last time it happened was my birth year, kinda cool.
Steph also just became the 2nd highest scorer in a 4 game sweep in history, behind only Bird in the early 80's.
Y'all remember when KD went down, and Charles Barkley claimed after the Dubs hung on for a game 5 win against Houston, that 'they won't win another game'? LOL. They haven't LOST in 6 games now, Chuck!
These guys have the Hearts of Champions, it just cannot be denied.
So ... Congrats Lads ... now it's 3-Peat Time!!! Let's close this out!
Grats to Portland fans for a great season, and first NBA finals in 19 years, sorry it went down that way ... if you weren't playing my Dubs, I'd have been rootin' for ya, as I was in 2000. You have an excellent young team, I look forward to more playoffs in the future. Kudos, and thanks for keeping it classy throughout.
john mayer - in the blood (studio - 2017) i can relate ...
How much of my mother has my mother left in me?How much of my love will be insane to some degree?
And what about this feeling that I'm never good enough?
Will it wash out in the water, or is it always in the blood?
How much of my father am I destined to become?
Will I dim the lights inside me just to satisfy someone?
Will I let this woman kill me, or do away with jealous love?
Will it wash out in the water, or is it always in the blood?
I can feel love the I want, I can feel the love I need
But it's never gonna come the way I am
Could I change it if I wanted, can I rise above the flood?
Will it wash out in the water, or is it always in the blood?
How much like my brothers, do my brothers wanna be?
Does a broken home become another broken family?
Or will we be there for each other, like nobody ever could?
Will it wash out in the water, or is it always in the blood?
DU seriously needs a new infusion of 'People' Avatars if you ask me ... Add Yours Here!
People Icons we are (at least appear to be, forgive me if didn't see them) missing:
Rachel!
Paul McCartney
Stones/Jagger/Richards
David Bowie
Paul Simon
Robert Smith (The Cure)
Iron Maiden/Eddie
Rush
Metallica
John Oliver
Sam Bee
Alec Baldwin as Trump
DeNiro as Mueller
Kate McKinnon as (various people)
Some GoT characters
Some Monty friggin' Python
Seems like it's been forever since the list was touched. Time for some new blood!
radiohead - bones (live-1998-paris) experience suggests this song is about kicking dope ...
I love seeing Jonny noodling with his effects ... and Radiohead back when they seriously rocked ...
don't want to be crippled and cracked
shoulders and wrists
knees and back
ground to dust and ash
crawling on all fours
when you've got to feel it in your bones
when you've got to feel it in your bones
now i can't climb the stairs
got pieces missing everywhere
prozac
painkillers
when you've got to feel it in your bones
when you've got to feel it in your bones
i used to fly like Peter Pan
all the children flew
when i touched their hands
you see, you've got to feel it in your bones
you see, you've got to feel it in your bones
muse - hysteria (live-2010-rock am ring) - it's never too early in AM to get your face rocked off
This is the kind of song/perf that makes me just want to sell all my gear and never sing or play again because I have no chance of ever being 1/100th as great as Muse, or Matt Bellamy in particular ...
This is just 3 guys, man ... nobody else (apart from Rush) can do this ...
muse w/ The Edge - where the streets have no name (live-glastonbury-2010) ... no words
Other than ... watching this is the only time I've turned the stereo hooked up to my PC ... as loud as it f***ing goes ... and that's VERY loud ... and it brought me to tears
lcd soundsystem - i can change (studio - 2010) - one of my all-time fave tunes
Yeah, I know it's totally reminiscent of Obsession by Eurythmics but I adore that song, too, so ...
Anyways, turn it the hell up and dance naked!
Tell me a line
Make it easy for me
Open your arms
Dance with me until I feel all right
It's good in the dark
Good in the dark
But into the lover's light
Here comes another fight
So ring the alarm
Ring the alarm
Bar me and hold me and cling to my arm
Here it comes
Here it comes
And what you're asking me now
Disastrous now
Hoping and hoping and hoping the feeling goes away
Never change, never change, never change, never change
Never change, never change, never change
This is why I fell in love
Never change, never change, never change, never change
Never change, never change, never change
That's just who I fell in love ... with
Oh this is the time
The very best time
So give me a line
And take me home
Take me over
But dashing the hopes
Dashing the hopes
And smashing the pride
The morning's got you on the ropes, oh
And love is a murderer
Love is a murderer
But if she calls you tonight
Everything is all right
Yeah, we know
And love is a curse
Shoved in a hearse
Love is an open book to a verse
Of your bad poetry
And this is coming from me
But I can change, I can change, I can change, I can change
I can change, I can change, I can change
If it helps you fall in love
Turn on the light
Make it easy for me
Fill the divide
Fumble in the kitchen 'til it's right
What an awful sight
But there's love in your eyes
Love in your eyes
Love in your eyes
But maybe that's just what your lover finds
all night
And I can change, I can change, I can change, I can change
I can change, I can change, I can change
If it helps you fall in love
