the dream academy w. david gilmour - twelve eight angel (studio - 1990) an 80's band hidden gem

Gilmour co-wrote, produced, and sang backing vocals on this track. This was one of the earliest CD's I bought, in 1990, in college. Album isn't fantastic but I love this song.

As an aside I feel like by now, David should be Sir David. No way would Roger accept the honour, but Dave? I'm thinking he would, and deserves it

boz scaggs - georgia (studio-1976) instantly takes me back to weekend visits with my bio dad

he loved 'silk degrees' when it came out, so it was on the turntable ALL THE TIME for a while there when I was 10-ish, at his house in Oakland, right by Fenton's on Piedmont Blvd.

And this was a fave of his ... given he was not only born in the state of Georgia (before moving to Oakland as a kid), but that was also his mothers name.

So this one goes out to my Daddy Jim, and Grandma Georgia

Papa JimJim (a Teamster and life-long Union man, and music fan) a year before we lost him to pancreatic cancer, with his granddaughter (my niece) outside Emil Villa's Hickory Pit, Walnut Creek, CA.

Seeing a lot more masks on people in stores here in PHX East Valley past few days

For the last month I'd seen very few but went into Walgreens today and literally everyone was wearing one. That was only like 5 other customers I saw (which is why I go to this store, it's very rarely crowded), but all in masks. And employees are all back in them for the past 2 weeks or so.

Anyone know whether DeSantis' no-masks order applies to charter (or religious private) schools?

Been curious about this and not seen it addressed in any articles about it.

Edit:
Assuming the answer is no it doesn't apply to them, as stated downthread, then as a parent, if you're concerned about 'no-mask' rules in public schools, you have the additional options of:
1) Homeschooling, or
2) Finding a private or charter school that's allowed to give a shit about protecting your child's health by requiring masks and/or vaccines for eligible kids.

That seems convenient, if your goal as a Repuke government is undermining public education, doesn't it?

Another question I have is ... the order said it's 'up to the parents' ... does that mean that the parents can inform the school/teachers that their child IS to wear a mask, and the school is obliged (or even allowed) to 'police' that situation for such children? Because how many parents actually think their kid is going to wear the mask at school just because mom and dad said they need to?

Not many are that naive, I'd wager.

Raining in the East PHX Valley again tonight ... thought the recent rains might be over but nope

Ever since I posted my joyful 'Rain' by the Cult video 3 weeks ago, after a LONG dry spell, it's been raining off and on down here (like normal monsoons for the first time in 6 or 7 summers), and temps have been reasonable every day (topping out around 100F), and it's sure been nice.

Pretty sure my video had something to do with it
