Virginia state delegate Danica Roem (D) made history when she became the first transgender person elected to a state legislature in 2017 and soundly defeated a challenger in 2019 that attempted to weaponize her gender identity to garner conservative votes.

Following former Vice President Joe Biden’s nomination as the Democrats 2020 presidential nominee, Roem posted a heartwarming story on Facebook that quickly went viral. And with the Republican National Convention starting today, it may be what you need to make it through the week.

Biden, who has also been a major supporter of the Human Rights Campaign National Press Secretary’s Sarah McBride in her bid for the Delaware state senate, was an early supporter of Roem’s campaign as well.

Sociopathic traits linked to non-compliance with mask guidelines and other COVID-19 containment measures

New research from Brazil has found that people who are unconcerned with adhering to measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 tend to display higher levels of traits associated with antisocial personality disorder, also known as sociopathy. The findings have been published in the journal Personality and Individual Differences.

On March 11th, 2020, the World Health Organization declared the outbreak of the novel coronavirus SARS‐CoV‐2 to be a global pandemic. Governments around the world urged people to follow preventive health measures such as frequent hand washing and physical distancing.

“It is noticeable that compliance with containment measures varies greatly between people,” said the authors of the new study. “This is at least partially connected with psychological factors such as personality traits.”

Former Republican nominee for vice president Sarah Palin called out former McCain campaign strategists turned Biden operatives Steve Schmidt in an appearance on 'Tucker Carlson Tonight' with host Tucker Carlson. Palin said they are part of the uniparty system and were never on our team to start with, calling them "wolves in sheep's clothing."

"He's a piece of work," Palin said of Schmidt. So is Nicolle Wallace and these other yahoos who are actually running the McCain-Palin campaign."

"To think that they were the ones rolling out, for instance, my candidacy and setting up the interviews," Palin said. "There was a lot of sabotage going on there especially at the end of the game there. But look where they are today. I mean, Steve Schmidt, Oh, my goodness, MSNBC contributor. And Nicolle Wallace is a host. They're wolves in sheep's clothing."
