Trump team orders Obama-appointed ambassadors to leave their overseas posts by Inauguration Day

US President-elect Donald Trump's transition team has issued a blanket mandate requiring ambassadors appointed by President Barack Obama to leave their overseas posts by Inauguration Day, The New York Times reported Thursday, citing several US diplomats familiar with the plan.

The mandate issued "without exceptions," according to a State Department cable sent December 23, threatens to leave the US without Senate-confirmed envoys for months in critical nations like Germany, Canada, and Britain, The Times reported.

In the past, administrations of both parties have often granted extensions to allow a few ambassadors, particularly those with school-age children, to remain in place for weeks or months, the newspaper said.

A senior Trump transition official told The Times there was no ill will in the move, describing it as a simple matter of ensuring Obama's overseas envoys leave the government on schedule, just as thousands of political aides at the White House and in federal agencies must do.

Trump has taken a strict stance against leaving any of Obama's political appointees in place as he prepares to take office on January 20, aiming to break up many of his predecessor's signature foreign and domestic policy achievements, the newspaper said.

Diplomats told The Times the order had thrown their personal lives into a tailspin, leaving them scrambling to secure living arrangements and acquire visas allowing them to stay in their countries so their children could remain in school.

Trump's transition staff was not immediately available for comment.

Now Trump is mad because the media will not say Mexico will reimburse us for the wall

Dan Rather

Even though Mexico has given no indication it would pay for a wall, President-elect Trump thinks otherwise. In an early morning tweet today, he blames the media for not reporting that Mexico will reimburse the US for what he is now calling "the Great Wall."

Obamacare repeal could cost Kentucky 45,000 jobs, study says

Wonder if McConnell even cares or if he is too obsessed about repeal. How will his constituents react to the loss?

It is scary how many clueless Americans there may be. The republicans & their leadership appear to

be as mentally unbalanced as Trump is.

They are so obsessed with the ACA they are willing to balloon the deficit over a trillion dollars cost jobs all to the detriment of the American people so they can say "we repealed ObamaCare". Then, on top of all the damage, they have already done, how many lives will be lost & sick due to their being kicked off of health care that every American deserves the right to have.

Right now about only 1 out of 5 Americans want a total repeal of the ACA with nothing to replace it but yet these bozos appear to be moving forward like a train wreck to do it. They have been told by Insurance Companies if they do a repeal & delay it would be a disaster because insurers would pull out with the uncertainty. Just about every way they go people are going to lose their healthcare.

All they had to do was what President Obama told them way back. Hey, if you see something you can make better, do it. We do not have all the good ideas, make it better for the American people, I support you. Let's work together on this to improve it.

We all know the answer to that one.

Trump Invokes Hillary Clinton and Her Hudson River Fireworks in Newest Childish Online Rant

Man Trump has to be mentally unstable with all of the moves he has made & his VP pick, Pence with some of his is not a whole lot better. We are screwed.

Trump probably was in such a rage this morning after all the intelligence that came out, his deposition & now knowing what is comig this morning so he goes on a tweeting barrage even against Clinton.

For some reason, although our President-elect is set to be sworn in only 13 days as our nation’s 45th Commander in Chief, he awoke this morning and decided to take some cheapened pot shots at his Democratic rival he defeated 58 days ago.

Seemingly without prompt or warning, Donald J. Trump took to his Android device and fired off a number of Tweets, slamming everything from the dishonest media to the Democrats to the former Secretary of State herself. The effort Friday morning is the latest in his unprovoked juvenile spats, and in this one he invoked the Hudson River fireworks celebration that the Clinton camp booked in anticipation of a November 8th victory.

The dishonest media does not report that any money spent on building the Great Wall (for sake of speed), will be paid back by Mexico later!

Hopefully, all supporters, and those who want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will go to D.C. on January 20th. It will be a GREAT SHOW!

Although it would appear that he’s missing the word “election” between the second and third tweets in his rant, his message is (more or less) clear: I’m a 70-year-old man who throws sensitive hissy fits the American people come first.

Conservatives ready to support $1 trillion hole in the budget

Some of the most conservative members of Congress say they are ready to vote for a budget that would — at least on paper — balloon the deficit to more than $1 trillion by the end of the decade, all for the sake of eventually repealing the Affordable Care Act.

In a dramatic reversal, many members of the hard-line House Freedom Caucus said Thursday they are prepared later this month to support a budget measure that would explode the deficit and increase the public debt to more than $29.1 trillion by 2026, figures contained in the budget resolution itself.

The worlds highest paid CEOs have already earned more than most people will this year

For most people around the world, Jan. 4 marked just another working day of the New Year. But for most of the world’s top bosses, it was “Fat Cat Wednesday.”

The term was coined by British think tank High Pay Center, which monitors pay at the top of the income distribution. By that afternoon, FTSE 100 bosses had earned more than the typical British worker does in the entire year, it says. The think tank’s calculations were based on the generous assumption that FTSE 100 bosses work 12 hours a day, including three out of every four weekends, and took fewer than 10 days holiday per year.

Using this assumption, along with data from Bloomberg’s Global CEO Pay Index and the average worker pay in several countries, Quartz calculated how quickly the richest CEOs earn the amounts their average countrymen earn in a year. (For the UK, Bloomberg’s average CEO pay was used instead of the High Pay Centre’s CEO median wage.)

Most CEOs in the top 10 of Bloomberg’s Global Pay Index earned the average annual wage in their country by 6:30pm on Wednesday, Jan. 4. CEOs in Norway and Singapore were the only ones not to; it took CEOs in Norway 39 hours to earn their country’s average annual wage (putting it in hand by 10am Friday, Jan. 6), while CEOs in Singapore earn the average annual wage in 60 hours (Tuesday, Jan. 10, at just past 10:30am, if they took the first full weekend in January off).

Mike Pence May Be Damaged Goods Before Stepping Into White House

Since our corporate media has become sitting ducks feeble in the lobby of Trump Tower, you probably have no idea there’s another lead crisis happening in the Midwest.

East Chicago, Indiana, a low-income neighborhood predominately made up of Hispanics and African Americans, received notice in July, 2016 that the West Calumet apartment complex had 218 times the “allowable” limit of lead in its ground soil and air.

This was a fact surprising to residents and citizens throughout the community—even though the complex had been built on top of a lead smelting plant, and the EPA and city officials knew about high levels of lead dating back to the 1980’s.

Officials never informed the residents that living near and on-top of a lead plant; lead emitters; the corroding, 6-8 decade old lead pipes underground; and chemical companies DuPont and Atlantic Richfield, could jeopardize their health.

Most egregiously, apparently after knowing about the high lead levels for 30 years, the EPA didn’t do a full, comprehensive test until 2016—when it found the dangerously high levels.
