U.S. Senate: (D) McGrath 41% (R) McConnell 40%

https://www.termlimits.com/mcgrath/#

Frankfort, KY – According to a new poll conducted by RMG Group, former Marine Amy McGrath will defeat Mitch McConnell decisively in November; but only if she begins focusing on one key issue: congressional term limits. If McGrath does not stress term limits, the race remains a tossup.

The poll, which was conducted from May 21-24, found that McGrath currently leads McConnell 41% to 40%, which is well within the margin of error. But after voters are told that it is McGrath, not McConnell, who agrees with President Trump on term limiting Congress, she jumps out to a 15-point lead.

When voters are informed that McGrath supports term limits and McConnell opposes it, McGrath’s support among Republicans nearly doubles from 8% to 17%. Among independents, her share rises from 33% to 43%.

Despite these promising numbers, McGrath has one big problem: the vast majority of Kentuckians are not aware that she supports term limits. While 37% of voters knew that McGrath is pro-term limits and has signed the U.S. Term Limits pledge, 63% either were not aware or incorrectly believed that she opposes term limits. 74% of independent voters are unaware that McGrath supports term limits.

If McGrath wants to win in November, she will need to do a better job informing voters of her position and the contrast with McConnell’s anti-term limit views.

The survey of 500 registered voters in Kentucky was conducted online by RMG Research, Inc. from May 21-24, 2020 using a representative sample to reflect the state’s population of registered voters. It has a margin of error of +/- 4.5 percentage points. RMG Research is owned and operated by Scott Rasmussen.

I apologize if this already been reported, but first time I've seen this poll posted.

Go McGrath! It is time for the Turtle to hid back inside his shell.

Sick for 50+ days: Houston man tests positive for COVID-19 3 times over 2 months

HOUSTON — Since March 19, Christian Bermea has been battling coronavirus COVID-19 from his Houston-area apartment. The 26-year-old said he tested positive for COVID-19 again on April 13 and May 1.

While he doesn’t feel as sick as he originally did more than 50 days ago, Bermea said Monday, May 4 he does still have some symptoms.

“I’m ready for it to be done,” said Bermea. “I definitely feel a lot better than I did at the beginning, but I’m still not at 100%. My smell isn’t as good as it used to be, fatigue, and shortness of breath.”

Despite not having a fever in several days, Bermea has continued self-isolation.

“Fifty-two days and counting,” said Bermea. “This virus isn’t just a physical process, it’s a mental one, too. You’re almost stuck with your thoughts. I’m scared because there’s still a virus inside me.”

KRIV brought Bermea’s questions to Dr. Eric Sandberg from Kelsey-Seybold Clinic — asking Dr. Sandberg, if he thinks Bermea is still contagious without a fever, and 52 days after his initial positive COVID-19 test.

“A patient like this raises many questions,” said Dr. Sandberg. “A positive test does not mean you’re able to infect other people. It means you have part of the genetic code in your body.”
