Instant Karma's coming for Chris Collins.

From a Friday, October 31, 2016 interview with Wolf Blitzer.

BLITZER: As you know, and I understand certainly where you're coming from, Congressman, but there are a bunch of highly respected leaders on both sides of the aisle who have criticized the director, the FBI director, for writing this letter to members of Congress last Friday, so close to Election Day, including the former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, who is a Republican, who worked for President Bush.

He called Comey's decision -- and I'm quoting him now -- "an error in judgment." So is Gonzales wrong?

COLLINS: He is. And, again, he's part of the establishment. But let's go back to, you know, Director Comey was criticized for doing what he did when he led the bill of particulars that frankly could have been an indictment on Hillary Clinton and then said no prosecutor would bring charges.

snip==========================

What they know is they are there, that they're on the device, and they have to make sure -- I mean, if Hillary hadn't destroyed 33,000, maybe we wouldn't still be having this discussion. They're still trying to find those 33,000 missing e-mails...

... She has got no one to blame but herself. And Director Comey did make a pledge to Congress if anything turned up that potentially could have an impact on his prior decision, he would tell Congress about it. He did what he said.

See ya; Glad I don't gotta be ya!

Nuns on a Bus call to action over deep concern about Kavanaugh

based on social justice principles.

Abortion is not mentioned directly, but there is an oblique reference that some might find surprising:

We [XXX Faith Leaders] write today because we believe the impending confirmation hearing for Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court calls for serious consideration. You have a responsibility to evaluate his previous decisions, examine his concern for the common good, and ultimately determine whether or not Judge Kavanaugh respects stare decisis and precedent.

A lack of respect for stare decisis could add further chaos to our nation and tear apart the sense of the common good. As Catholics, we believe that any government official – including a Supreme Court Justice – must be concerned with the needs of people who are marginalized, not just the rich and powerful or a member of one’s own political party. As you consider how you will vote on the question of confirmation, we ask you to consider Judge Kavanaugh’s stance on these principles as demonstrated on his prior decisions and statements on issues such as healthcare, immigration, labor, the death penalty, and voting rights.

Ben Jealous: "I'm a venture capitalist, not a socialist.

I have never referred to myself as a socialist nor would I govern as one.”

Maryland Democratic gubernatorial nominee Ben Jealous clearly does not like being called a socialist.

On Wednesday, the former NAACP chief was asked at a news conference whether he identified with the term “socialist,” as his political opponent, Gov. Larry Hogan (R), has labeled him.

“Are you f---ing kidding me?” Jealous responded, visibly surprising some of the Democratic elected officials who had gathered to endorse him.
