"Stonewall Democrats Club Chooses [Andrew] Cuomo Over [Cynthia] Nixon"

"On Wednesday afternoon, Cynthia Nixon’s campaign sent an email blast to supporters, mocking Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s application for the Stonewall Democratic Club’s endorsement, accusing him of lying in a desperate bid to shore up support.

Hours later, the club, the city’s first lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Democratic organization, endorsed Mr. Cuomo."

The real-life court experiences of immigrant children separated from their parents

A new film by the nonprofit Immigration Counseling Service and filmmaker Linda Freedman shows the real-life court experiences of immigrant children separated from their parents, using actual court transcripts.

Unaccompanied: Alone in America shows former Oregon Judge William C. Snouffer portraying the stern-faced immigration trial judge who asks several Latino children if they are even aware who or what a lawyer is or does. Several respond to the U.S. government's charges, in Spanish, that they don't know the definition of a lawyer and are clearly not represented by one. The court proceedings in the four-minute film take quotations directly from transcripts from immigration trials in which migrant toddlers often appear alone and frightened.

Indianapolis church locks up Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus to condemn immigration policy

INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis church made a bold statement on a lawn near Monument Circle Tuesday morning, placing statues of Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus inside a fence to condemn the current immigration policies.

Christ Church Cathedral, also known as "The Church on the Circle," locked up Mary, Joseph, and Jesus as part of its Every Family is Holy campaign.

The church's dean, Steve Carlson, said the campaign is to bring awareness to and condemn the United States' zero-tolerance immigration policy.

Police called on 12-year-old mowing grass which ends up getting him more business

A boy in Maple Heights is running his own business this summer cutting lawns and cleaning up yards.

Reginald Fields, 12, is the owner of Mr. Reggie's Lawn Cutting Service. With several helping hands from his cousins, brothers and sisters, they are up with the sun every day working the neighborhood.

That's what they were doing when someone called Maple Heights police on them.

"They said I was cutting their grass. I didn't know it!" Reggie said.
