Kid Rock trails U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow by 18 points in new poll
A week after the superstar musician again only teased his political intentions as he opened Little Caesars Arena in Detroit with a string of shows, a new poll released Wednesday showed he trails U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow in a head-to-head match-up 52%-34%.
That's a far cry from a Tafalgar Group poll in July that had Kid Rock — whose real name is Robert Ritchie — ahead within that poll's margin of error, 49%-46%. Another poll, done by Target Insyght in July, had Stabenow ahead of Kid Rock 50%-42%.

Ivanka Trump, the first daughter and adviser to the president, used a personal email address to communicate with a government official after her father took office, according to documents that the nonprofit American Oversight obtained through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and shared exclusively with Newsweek.
The documents show that on February 28, Trump—identifying herself as Ivanka Kushner—emailed Linda McMahon, the administrator of the United States Small Business Administration, from a personal domain. At the time, Trump was operating inside the White House in a nonofficial capacity. She wrote that she wanted McMahon’s agency and her staff to “explore opportunities to collaborate” on issues related to “women’s entrepreneurship.” She copied on the correspondence the government email addresses of two other federal employees, Dina Powell and Julie Radford.
“Yet again we see that there’s one rule for the Trump family and another for everyone else,” Austin Evers, the executive director of American Oversight and a former senior counsel at the Department of State, said in a statement to Newsweek. “It’s simply breathtaking that both Ivanka and Jared Kushner would conduct government [work] on a personal email account after running a campaign centered on that very issue. The fact that they would brazenly ignore rules governing email use raises even more questions about their judgement and fitness to hold positions in the White House.”

They had come together last March at a conference at Yale University to wrestle with two questions. One was on countless minds across the country: “What’s wrong with him?” The second was directed to their own code of ethics: “Does Professional Responsibility Include a Duty to Warn” if they conclude the president to be dangerously unfit?
As mental health professionals, these men and women respect the long-standing “Goldwater rule” which inhibits them from diagnosing public figures whom they have not personally examined. At the same time, as explained by Dr. Bandy X Lee, who teaches law and psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine, the rule does not have a countervailing rule that directs what to do when the risk of harm from remaining silent outweighs the damage that could result from speaking about a public figure—”which in this case, could even be the greatest possible harm.” It is an old and difficult moral issue that requires a great exertion of conscience. Their decision: “We respect the rule, we deem it subordinate to the single most important principle that guides our professional conduct: that we hold our responsibility to human life and well-being as paramount.”

However, without overwhelming partisan supermajorities, a degree of bipartisanship is simply necessary to govern. Obama understood it, ignored the naysayers, and faced up to the challenge.Our politics may be broken, with an electorate so polarized that there is little to be gained by constructively engaging the opposing party and forging difficult compromises. But the governing structure designed by our Founders is not. Obama proved time and time again that bipartisan policymaking is still feasible within the framework of the Constitution. He just could have used more members of Congress who were willing to admit it.

Most people her at DU and in US do think we need a health care system that provide medical assistance to everyone.
But new laws can’t be created in a revolution, based on lofty rhetoric, devisees about anyone that thinks different than you, and no specifics about funding.
Any new health law would require a bipartisan undertaking, and must be viewed in relationship with with a new tax code scheme
They way Sanders and left wingers of our party is behaving is utterly disgusting, because they do not recognize or give credit to democratic politicians, and some of the moderate republicans, who are fighting for a more just and fair health care system.
Despite knowing both houses are controlled by republicans, and we have a fucked up neo nazi as president, who want to create havoc, and desperately needs some wins..
A new tax code is coming up your “troll” way”, ant it will stop any universal, single payer health system, in its tracks.
This is not the way real politics is done, and its why congress and senate have a historic low approval rating.
We need to listen to each other, and find common ground where it is to be found.
And hopefully we will reach some sort of universal, single payer health care system on the way.
But it won’t be easy, and it wont be under the leadership of the political revolution of the Sanders wing or our party.
It will be a undertaking that require patience, humility, and corporation over the party lines.
Something that Sanders has never, and will never understand.
