Hillary Clinton's campaign said Saturday that rival Bernie Sanders has rejected three proposed debate dates ahead of the New York primary on April 19 — marking the latest dustup in an increasingly heated fight for the Democratic nomination.
But Clinton told NBC's "Meet The Press" that "I'm confident we will" have a debate.
"Our campaigns are trying to reach an agreement about that. We've offered dates and we've done it over the last several weeks, so we've been trying to figure out when we could do this. But there's a lot to talk about," Clinton told moderator Chuck Todd. "I'm confident that there will be," she said in the interview.
Clinton's campaign said in a statement Saturday that it offered April 4 as the first potential date, but the Sanders team wanted instead to schedule the debate after the Wisconsin primary on April 5. Clinton officials then suggested April 14 and April 15 as possibilities and are hopeful Sanders will come to accept one of these dates.
"The Sanders campaign needs to stop with the games," Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon wrote. "The Sanders campaign needs to stop using the New York primary as a playground for political games and negative attacks against Hillary Clinton. The voters of New York deserve better."

Hillary Clinton Attacks Misogynist, Homophobe, Bigot Rebecca Bradley Saturday Night
Edited to add: Rebecca Bradley is truly a piece of work from the Trump mold. This is the woman who blames college girls for date rape. And has no sympathy for people with AIDS. That this person has the power to influence to Wisconsin Supreme Court is a disgrace and threat to civil rights. Kudos to Hillary for calling her out!

In Wisconsin, Hillary says Sanders is a Democrat-Come-Lately

Clinton said her near-lifelong membership to the Democratic Party was "important" in the nomination contest while campaigning here on Saturday, two days ahead of Wisconsin's Democratic primary.
"I am also a Democrat and have been a proud Democrat all my adult life," Clinton said. "And I think that is kind of important if we are selecting someone to be the Democratic nominee of the Democratic Party."
Yes, Being Perceived as a Liar DOES Have a Sex
and often a color. Women and minorities are routinely assumed to be behaving in underhanded ways when they attempt to be part of the social arena in ways that encroach on the comfort of white men.
Ingrained sexism permeates our culture's assessment of women's honesty, particularly when a male is being challenged. That is the reason Hillary always has extremely high favorables until she decides to run for office. Not a word needs to be said, the numbers drop and steepen precipitously as soon as there is a viable male opponent in the race.
A very glaring example of this "male challenge" phenomenon is the rape case of Bill Cosby. Despite more than 50 women coming forward to describe their attacks and a civil case in which he admitted to assault, they are still being discounted as liars, opportunists or looking for attention. Most rape victims do not come forward because they know they will not be believed and that their reputations will be tarnished. They will be victimized again.
The untrustworthiness belief extends to characterizations of single mothers as "welfare queens" who must be simply gaming the system so they can take public funds at their leisure.
It extends to women who are targeted because they produce "anchor babies" to dodge immigration laws.
It is implicit in every characterization of a woman who marries someone of means as a "gold digger" who is selfishly taking advantage of a man for her own materialistic purposes.
It is embedded in most of our major religions which preclude women from leading a service because they are incapable of interpreting "God's word" in a reliable way. Women being untrustworthy is the running narrative in virtually every Judeo/Christian/Islamic story and actually holds women accountable for the "sins of man".
It is the unabashed core of the Madonna/Whore narrative that is alive and thriving in every sphere of our culture from boardrooms to bedrooms. It is what gives rise to memes about "hoes" and "whores", women who are tainted and have a bankruptcy of character never attributed to men. It is the same impulse that allows people to see "dishonesty" in a woman who is the victim of a philandering husband and hold her accountable for decisions she makes in reaction thereto.
When are women considered reliable, good, honest and trustworthy? When they are virginal or motherly or in professions that cater to the welfare of others, particularly children.
It was not that long ago that women were not considered rational or trustworthy enough to vote.
Sexism is not limited to dialogue that is focused on the physical attributes of women but also those which impugn their characters for behaving in far less egregious ways then men. That said, every time anyone references a vagina with respect to voting is reducing candidates and half the voters to anatomy, much like those who reduce Obama and PoC to the color of their skin. The fact that there are people with whom both these candidates, by virtue of their gender or race minority status, share histories that compels them to recognize their own lived experiences in them, can in no way can be reduced to "reverse" racism or sexism. Those terms cannot even be considered legitimate in a culture in which the odds are so steeply stacked against them.

Hillary is Rattling Her Saber at Trump with Possible VP Perez!
There are rumors going around that Hillary may choose Secretary of Labor Tom Perez as her running mate. The Hill buzz on media outlets like Yahoo, CNN, Politico, Gawker, etc are hinting he may be the one. If he is, it looks like she would be gearing up for the fight against Trump and all he stands for. Perez is the anti-Trump! Most Right Wing opposition is of the particularly virulent, racist kind, a partisan attack from the Republican Oversight Committee or involves using his "email!"
What is this RW obsession with email anyway? Do we need to have FBI investigations and congressional hearings into the content of their email exchanges?
Perez is definitely a superb candidate. His CV is stellar!
Tom Perez is the son of first generation Dominican immigrants. Father was a WWII veteran and physician, his mother was Dominican's Ambassador to the US. He attended Brown University with scholarships and by working as a trash collector and the Rhode Island Human Rights Commission. He received his law degree from Harvard and clerked for Attorney General Edwin Meese.
From 1989 to 1995 he worked as a prosecutor with the Dept. of Justice's Civil Rights Division fighting against white supremacists, etc. He also chaired the Worker Exploitation Task Force.
He has prosecuted predatory/sub prime loan brokers, opposed the privatization of non profit health insurers, set up voluntary organizations to import lower cost prescription medicines, led efforts to target companies engaging in workplace fraud and imposed penalties for corporate tax evasion.
He was appointed by Obama for Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division and worked to revamp protections for Americans with Disabilities and stopping discrimination against individual with HIV/AIDS. He oversaw the implementation of the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Hate Crimes Prevention Act and prosecuted the racially motivated murder of James Craig Anderson. He has prosecuted several cases on behalf of LGBT discrimination and harassment.
He has worked as investigator/prosecutor in the hate crime cases of Trayvon Martin, Eric Holder, led the investigation and lawsuit against Maricopa County and Sheriff "tent city" Arpaio, led investigations and blocked voter ID/suppression efforts in SC and TX.
He was appointed as Obama's Secretary of Labor, supported by the AFL-CIO, NAACP, UFW and the National Women's Law Center and opposed by some in the GOP for efforts to increase the minimum wage and his support of the rights of immigrants.
His wife is a lawyer with the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless.

I Know Why Young Voters Don't Get It - Time to Flip the Script!
One of the tactics Sanders has used has been to be unremittingly negative about all things Democrat, Clinton and Obama. He has effectively blamed Hillary for virtually everything that has gone wrong anywhere on the planet for the last 20 years. Whether she was in office or not, whether she voted or not, it hasn't mattered. Despite his claim of having run a pristine campaign, he has been intensely negative and has ramped up his efforts. Sanders message has been consistently, "Blame Hillary!". I watched that message escalate and saw it in its full glory at the debate in Flint. He blames Hillary for every questionable policy or decision made by Obama or President Clinton and hangs it around her neck to weigh her down with negatives that do not even belong to her. Hell, he even blames her for votes HE made when she wasn't in office!
What a familiar refrain! it is one challengers have perennially used to discredit Hillary for even having the audacity to run for office. To me, Sanders message about Hillary and Democrats isn't radical, he is more of the same of what we got before but at that time it came from Republicans.
Why is it working?
Because people under a certain age simply do not know all of the fantastic things both President Clinton and Obama have done. And if Hillary is to "blame" for policies that might not have worked out well, she is damn sure entitled to claim credit for those that did.
What are some of those things?
I think it behooves us to educate younger voters about exactly why Democrats have much to be proud of. Why we remember the Clinton years as a massive improvement over what we had. How Bill turned this country around and led us in peace and prosperity. How Obama has ushered in an entirely new trajectory of civil rights and positive changes.

African American family income increased even more, rising by nearly $7,000 since 1993. The bottom 20 percent saw the largest income growth at 16.3 percent.

In short, it got wayyyy better, despite what Sanders would have people believe.
2016: When Identity Politics Refused to Sit in the Back of the Bus
"Identity".
It is an alarming pattern to see current 'progressives' using that term in a dismissive and even pejorative way. When did 'identity" issues become relegated to being the ugly stepchild of the Democratic platform? That dismissal stands in stark contrast to years of progressive activism that recognized that minorities of all kinds are subject to insidious and pervasive injustices, independent of and in addition to their economic challenges.
It is even more unsettling because it sounds exactly like the defenses used by the Republicans to deny the real, deeply entrenched prejudices facing all POC and minorities. They call them, "wedge issues" because to them, they are not real or as important. Republicans have traditionally been the ones to use economic issues as the only metric. They approach social issues as if all things are otherwise equal when they are most decidedly not. They insist that all the problems facing minorities are solved and subsumed by economic reform. Sound familiar?
Now we are hearing that identical position repeated by 'progressives' on the left. In some cases, that view is now even being used as a reason to deny the possibility of the first woman President because reaching that milestone is somehow no longer 'progressive'. The undercurrent of disenfranchisement in the present election is strikingly apparent to many minorities who are pushing back virtually unanimously. They are using their votes to challenge what they rightly perceive as reinforcement of the status quo. They will not sit in the back of the bus.
Economic reform simply does not address all the cultural and systemic discrimination faced by minorities. Justice reform, education and health reform are critical improvements but they do not go far enough. That is the point POC and all minorities keep trying to make and the one that seems to be falling on deaf ears. Senator Sanders is not an unhinged racist nor are the vast majority of his supporters . If Senator Sanders were to win the nomination and Presidency, it is vitally important that he truly and deeply understand what all minorities face and are trying to tell him. President Obama instinctively gets it and that is why minorities instinctively trust him on these issues.
What is happening is that the chronic daily grind of micro, macro and systemic aggressions to which POC and minorities are subject is lost on some people. And those people are not limited to Senator Sanders nor his supporters. Unseen privilege is endemic in our culture by those, by accident of birth and no effort of their own, happen to be beneficiaries of more rights than others.
It matters not that an economy is robust if minorities are routinely 'redlined' out of opportunity in nearly every sphere: education, employment in every field, housing, medical services, media and historical representation, cultural and social acceptance, inclusion in nearly every facet of the public arena and significant day to day safety and protection under the law for all its citizens.
These 'identity' issues that are becoming routinely disparaged by some of the left, cut across every single strata of class in minority communities. All POC (and women, LGBT and disabled for that matter) are subject to a culture that views them as 'other' than the default white, straight, able bodied white males. They are disproportionately always subject to judgment and a far more rigorous and punishing metric. They are routinely dismissed, erased, lectured, and have their constant safety concerns (no matter their 'class' standing) accepted as the status quo.
That this disenfranchisement is being promoted by those who are currently disproportionately represented and beneficiaries of an unequal system: straight white males who do not have to contend with all those challenges, comes as a surprise to no one. That it is coming from those who claim they have modern, progressive sensibilities is shows how far we still need to go.
We still have a dream. We will not sit in the back of the bus. Lets keep going!
Bernie: "When You Are White"
"When you're white, you don't know what it's like to be living in a ghetto," Sanders said. "You don't know what it's like to be poor. You don't know what it's like to be hassled when you walk down the street."
Bernie got this wrong on white, black and all minority accounts. It is when he says things like this that I realize yet again that he doesn't speak for so many people. Maybe that is why he is always talking about Wall Street. Apparently his wife Jane said that they make a great team because "he handles the issues and she handles the people." Makes sense every time I hear him talk.
Democratic Battle for Battleground States - Hillary's Winning!
I did some research and numbers crunching this morning and, no surprise, found that the forecast for the battleground States shows clearly and unequivocally that Hillary, not Bernie, is by far the more electable Democratic candidate. So, I posted the following in the GDP this morning and although some people looked at it, as usual, when the available data challenges what Sander's supporters want to believe, they simply pretend it isn't there. For the most part, it got lost in the shuffle because the numbers do not favor Bernie or his chances in the General.
I am posting it here because I think the Hillary Group will appreciate the facts quite a bit more!
