After lawsuit announcement, USWNT receives support from Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton

"Five members of the U.S. women's soccer team filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Soccer Federation for wage discrimination Thursday morning. In the filing, the players allege they are paid almost four times less than the men's team despite generating almost $20 million more in revenue in 2015.

As you may imagine -- or have seen if you've spent any time on social media -- the lawsuit has garnered attention worldwide and support from fellow athletes, fans and celebrities alike. However, two such celebrities might stand out slightly from the rest: Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton."

I hope this lawsuit is successful!

Feinstein on Clinton: “Golly, I forget what bills she’s been part of or authored."

“Feinstein: Clinton wasn’t in Senate long enough to do more,” by SF Chronicle’s Joe Garofoli: ““Golly, I forget what bills she’s been part of or authored. I didn’t really come prepared to discuss this,” Feinstein said...‘But she’s been a good senator. There are things outside of bills that you can do, and I know that she’s done them for her state.’” http://bit.ly/1M1wS6V

Inside the FBI Investigation of Hillary Clinton’s E-Mail

"Late last summer, the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, James Comey, met with John Giacalone, the bureau official responsible for everything from counterterrorism to counterintelligence across the U.S. Giacalone, a fireplug of a man who started out as a New York City field agent battling organized crime in the 1990s, wanted to brief Comey on a high-profile issue that had been referred to the bureau by the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community. Emails found on the private, unclassified server used by Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State contained classified information; Giacalone’s National Security Branch wanted to investigate how the secrets got there and whether anyone had committed a crime in the process. Comey was clear about one thing. “He wanted to make sure it was treated the same way as all other cases,” says Giacalone, who left the bureau in February."

AJAM’s David Shuster Exclusive: Clinton to be Interviewed by FBI Director Comey in Coming Days

"Per Shuster:

While Hillary Clinton fights for the Democratic presidential nomination, law enforcement officials tell Al Jazeera America the Federal Investigation into her personal email system while she was Secretary of State has reached a critical stage.

The FBI, led by Director James Comey, has now finished examining Clinton’s private emails and home server. And the sources add that Comey’s FBI team has been joined by the Justice Department prosecutors. Together, they are now examining the evidence, analyzing relevant laws, and attempting to arrange interviews with key figures in the investigation.

Those interviews, according to attorneys, will include former State Department aides Philippe Reines, Former Clinton Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills, and Clinton herself.

Soon after those interviews — in the next few days and weeks — officials expect Director Comey to make his recommendation to Attorney General Loretta Lynch about potential criminal charges"

Hillary Clinton Wants You to Remember How New York She Is Ahead of State's Primary

"Hillary Clinton returned to the Harlem neighborhood of New York City on Wednesday to campaign ahead of the state's April 19 presidential primary, delivering a speech that heavily referenced the 2001 terror attacks that destroyed the World Trade Center.

The former secretary of state, who had previously served as a US senator from New York, and her rival Bernie Sanders, who was born and schooled in Brooklyn, the city's largest borough, both have strong ties to the community. But with three weeks to go until New York voters head to the polls, forecasts show Clinton pulling ahead of Sanders by as much as 48 points.

Clinton appears intent on leveraging her eight-year stint in the Senate on behalf of New York, which covered the pivotal 9/11 era, to sustain if not build on her lead in the days ahead.

In her remarks on Wednesday in front of a crowd of several hundred at Harlem's iconic Apollo Theater, Clinton highlighted her efforts to rebuild the city in the aftermath of the attacks and to pass a healthcare bill for 9/11 first responders, some of whom later developed post-traumatic stress disorder, respiratory illnesses, and cancer linked to breathing toxic dust and debris at ground zero.

"Those eight eventful years I served you, there were some hard times, weren't there?" Clinton said, drawing murmurs of affirmation from the crowd. "But we pulled together. None of us who lived through 9/11 and its aftermath will ever forget the lives lost.""

Will she use a Brooklyn accent at the debates?

Bag Filled With Voter Registration Forms, Personal Info Found Abandoned In East Bay Park

"A Concord man says he found a bag filled with voter registration forms containing the personal information of two dozen residents while walking his dog near the Pleasant Hill BART station.

Easter Sunday morning, Bob Ericson of Concord was walking his dog on the Iron Horse trail near the BART station when he spotted the bag stuffed full of stacks of paperwork.

“It was already open and the forms were pulled out. I read the top line and it said “voter registration form,” Ericson said.

“These people would have showed up on Election Day ready to vote, and unable to because their forms had not been processed. It would have been terrible,” he said.

Assistant Contra Costa County Registrar Scott Konopasek himself saw the Facebook posting, and drove to the park to retrieve the bag Sunday. He says it turns out someone stole the bag from a woman at a Starbucks. She’s a signature collector for political campaigns, and while they’re signing, she also encourages them to register to vote – a process that’s perfectly legal.

Apparently the thief ditched the bag in the park nearby.

“Twenty four valid registrations that appear to have been unprocessed,” Konopasek said."
