HILLARY CLINTON SAYS SHE ALWAYS KEEPS HOT SAUCE IN HER BAG ON ‘THE BREAKFAST CLUB’

We’re less than 7 months from the general elections, shortly after which someone not named Barack Obama will be the President of the United States of America for the first time in 8 years. Who that person will be is still up in the air, but of the four viable candidates, we’ve seen the Democratic hopefuls, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, make the hardest push to get involved in Hip Hop and inner-city culture, and secure the minority, millennial vote. From Sanders speaking to 18,000 people outside in the South Bronx, to Hillary engaging in a heated game of dominoes last week in East Harlem, every week it seems that Sanders or Clinton makes a signature effort to make sure they’re reaching the Hip Hop youth.

This week, Hillary Clinton’s efforts find her in the hot seat on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, where she sat down for an in-depth interview with Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy. Aside from her quest for the minority vote, Hillary is undoubtedly making a last minute push to reach as many New York ears as possible, considering tomorrow is the imperative New York primary, which could ultimately be the deciding factor of whose name appears on November’s Democratic ticket.

Though the interview just took place a short while ago–there’s no video or audio of their chat yet–via Twitter, we can see that Hillary dipped into her bag of colloquial trends and pulled out a Beyonce reference, telling TBC that she, like Queen Bey, keeps hot sauce in her bag. If you remember, Beyonce infamously sang, “I keep hot sauce in my bag, swag,” on “Formation,” the new single she dropped in February and performed at the Super Bowl.

Naturally, Twitter has already begun to react.

A classic example of Hillary Clinton's pandering lol

Read The Full Transcript Of The Speech That Sanders Just Made At The Vatican

"The senator just concluded his speech at the Vatican on Friday morning, specifically addressing the evils of greed and the ways to create and maintain a more moral economy and society. His speech features many positive references to the Pope.

“I see that hope and sense of possibility every day among America’s young people. Our youth are no longer satisfied with corrupt and broken politics and an economy of stark inequality and injustice. They are not satisfied with the destruction of our environment by a fossil fuel industry whose greed has put short term profits ahead of climate change and the future of our planet. They want to live in harmony with nature, not destroy it. They are calling out for a return to fairness; for an economy that defends the common good by ensuring that every person, rich or poor, has access to quality health care, nutrition and education.

As Pope Francis made powerfully clear last year in Laudato Si’, we have the technology and know-how to solve our problems – from poverty to climate change to health care to protection of biodiversity. We also have the vast wealth to do so, especially if the rich pay their way in fair taxes rather than hiding their funds in the world’s tax and secrecy havens- as the Panama Papers have shown.”

The Latest: Sanders lands in Rome for Vatican conference

"The Latest on Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders' trip to Rome to speak the Vatican conference on social and economic justice (all times Eastern Daylight Time):

9:05 a.m.

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has landed in Rome to attend a Vatican conference steeped in his lifelong passions of economic and social justice.

The Vermont senator is making the trip even while he faces a crucial New York primary against rival Hillary Clinton next week.

The self-described democratic socialist is an admirer of Pope Francis and will join several speakers commemorating the 25th anniversary of "Centesimus Annus," a high-level teaching document by Pope John Paul II on the economy and social justice at the end of the Cold War.

The roughly 24-hour break from the campaign comes just five days before the New York primary.

Sanders is joined by his wife, Jane Sanders, and 10 family members, including four grandchildren.

Pope Francis has met with at least one participant of the Vatican conference on social and economic justice that Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is attending: Bolivian President Evo Morales.

Morales met for about a half-hour Friday morning with Francis before heading into the conference. Morales once again raised eyebrows with an unusual gift for the pontiff: three books about the health benefits of the coca leaf, the raw ingredient for cocaine.

The Vatican has said Francis has no plans to meet with conference participants or with Sanders."

So it looks like the Pope is meeting with some of the participants.

Bernie Sanders Laces Speech With Themes of Race, and Gets Warm Reception From Activists

"Senator Bernie Sanders wove issues of race and civil rights into his standard speech about income inequality and overhauling the campaign finance system on Thursday as he sought to win over an influential crowd of black leaders.

“I have a history of being blunt, so let’s be blunt today,” Mr. Sanders said to open his remarks to the National Action Network annual conference in New York, put on by the group’s founder, the Rev. Al Sharpton.

He listed his usual litany of complaints with the political system and the influence of Wall Street, but he tried to root that message more distinctly in race, weaving quotes from the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. into his remarks.

“Dr. King recognized it is criminal to have people working on a full-time basis, in a full-time job, getting part-time income,” Mr. Sanders said. “That was the 1960s. Sad to say, it is still true today in many respects.”

Mr. Sanders spoke a day after Hillary Clinton received a lukewarm reception from the crowd, partly because her remarks were heavily reliant on policy proposals rather than rallying cries.

Mr. Sanders, of Vermont, did not talk policy and did not overly adapt his remarks to the crowd. But his words played well. At points the audience chanted, “Bernie! Bernie!” Cries of “Tell it, Bernie!” rang out when he listed unemployment statistics for African-American youth.

“How is it possible we have trillions of dollars to spend on a war in Iraq we should have never gotten into but somehow we don’t have the funds to rebuild inner cities?” he said to a roar of applause."

Why Did Hillary Ditch Good Morning America Today?

A town hall with presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has been cancelled just hours before the event.

The Democratic front-runner had been set to appear on Good Morning America Friday morning, but ABC said in a statement on Thursday afternoon that the event was being rescheduled for a different time.

The network cited a 'scheduling issue' as the reason for the cancelled event.

When asked who had cancelled the event, ABC would not comment. Two executives from other networks told Dailymail.com that it was Clinton who cancelled at the last minute.

Bernie Sanders to Black Audience: GOP Wants To Bring Back ‘Jim Crow Days’

"Speaking before the National Action Network Thursday, Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders said that Republicans were trying to bring America “back to the Jim Crow days” by passing voter ID laws.

“We have a level of Republican voter suppression that is absolutely outrageous,” Sanders told the Al Sharpton-run organization."

“We have a level of Republican voter suppression that is absolutely outrageous,” Sanders told the Al Sharpton-run organization.

“You would have thought that after all we have gone through as a country to make sure that people have the right to vote, regardless of the color of their skin, that these Republican governors would show some mercy and not try to bring us back to Jim Crow days,” he continued.

“The idea that they are passing laws, restricting the right to vote, making it harder for people to vote, poor people, old people, people of color, that is moving in exactly the wrong way,” Sanders concluded."
