I need ideas for summer jobs.....

Hi All....

I'm a permanent substitute teacher (by choice, I LOVE IT).....

There is NO work during the summer because the summer school that students need to attend are run by the regular teachers.

Also, the camps and outdoor activity jobs go to the teacher aides, paraprofessionals, etc. And, I can't work outdoors in the heat because I have Fibromyalgia.

I worked for the County of Los Angeles last summer (as an in-home health provider) but it was a mess (I won't go into details).

I'd love to Nanny/babysit, help elderly people, etc. I can't do retail/fast food because I have too many food allergies and retail is a major trigger for me.

Right now I need ideas (no matter how off the wall)!

I've been home sick for almost a week (pretty sure it's something called Norovirus). It's a horrible stomach virus and entails all that you think it would entail with the bonus of cramping and extreme fatigue. I'm in the South Bay section of Los Angeles and apparently it's really spiking here.

Anyway, I'm curious about people's thoughts regarding their ice cream preferences. It's one of my favorite things to eat....

Well, I'm on my way to the Los Angeles Festival of Books!

I haven't been in a long time..... Not since they moved from the UCLA campus to the USC campus.

I have a ticket to see Matthew Perry at 4:30 in one of the auditoriums. I'm a recovering addict/alcoholic and his book really hit home for me.

I can't get there too early because it's going to be in the 80's today and that's too much for me. However, I want to get there early enough to check out some of the booths and authors. I'm watching CSPAN now trying to see what folks are wearing. It's L.A. so pretty much anything goes...I can't decide weather to wear my flip flops or my tennis shoes.... I've had harder decisions to make....

Hi all .

I'm getting together with old friends tonight for game night. We used to do this on a regular basis but as everyone's lives became more complicated (kids, careers, etc.) we haven't done this in a long time (years).

The games we used to play were Scattergories, Taboo, Trivial Pursuit, and others.

Has anyone ever played Blank Slate?

The group is about 10 people and we normally play in groups. I need ideas!

I'm a huge Bob Odenkirk fan - Saul Goodman of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

I realized he has a new show coming out but I didn't tape it. It's called, Lucky Hank. My DVR has been set to record, Better Call Saul, for several years. That series ended in 2022.

Then, when I was checking out the shows on my listing this morning, I saw that Better Call Saul was recorded. I thought they were repeating the series. I've seen it in its entirety two times and have been thinking of bingeing it again. For shows I love, I'll watch repeatedly- I just enjoy multiple viewings.

Anyhow, the show on my T.V. guide said, Better Call Saul. It was actually, Lucky Hank. I watched the show and loved it. I'm looking forward to the series.
