dlk's JournalKoch/Mercer-Funded Libertarians Have Taken Over the GOP
The traditional conservative party has been overrun with Koch/Mercer funded libertarians. They have an agenda that has nothing to do with democracy - and have made huge inroads creating an oligarchy in its place. They don't negotiate and they take no prisoners, and more than anything, they don't like to share--money and resources. The lives of the majority of Americans are inconsequential in the face of their agenda--unfettered control of our country. They are much more of a threat to our safety and well-being than middle-eastern terrorists. Only a united, large and sustained opposition will save us.

There is No Bottom for Trump and his Ilk - They Always Find Ways to Sink Lower
Just when it seems Trump can't say/do anything more despicable, he manages to find a way. This is what the GOP has inflicted upon the entire country and even the world--all in the name of greed and white male supremacy.

Repealing the Ban on Government Research on Gun Violence is Long Overdue
Whether or not one political party believes in science and facts shouldn't deter the rest of us, who live in the real world, to focus our attention and energy on getting this ridiculous ban repealed.

Paddock's Apparent "Normal" Profile Underscores the Need for More Research on Gun Violence
Stephen Paddock didn't fit the stereotype of a mass murder, yet, that is exactly what he was. To say there is a need for further research on the causes of mass gun violence is an understatement. Yet, for political purposes, any government research into this very common danger has been banned. We have people like the current governor of Kentucky tweeting nonsense "that evil can't be regulated," as if we should discard the entire criminal code and criminal justice system. At some point, public safety should matter and the current ban on government research into gun violence should be repealed.
What if Gun Owners Paid a Tax to Help Defray the High Costs of Gun Violence?
The long list of costs associated with gun violence in American is enormous. Perhaps it's time for gun owners to shoulder some of the responsibility their rights and freedoms cost everyone, gun owners and non-owners alike.
