NYCButterfinger's JournalHeath Shuler seriously considering running for North Carolina Senate in 2016
Former U.S. Congressman Heath Shuler, a Blue Dog Democrat who served the Western North Carolina area of the state from 2007 to 2013, is seriously considering running for Senate against current Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.). Shuler is now a lobbyist. Some Democrats think that Shuler may be the best candidate to run against Burr. I like Heath Shuler, he was a decent quarterback, not great, he was good at the University of Tennessee.
Shuler ran for House Democratic Leader against Nancy Pelosi in 2010, but lost.
I did not like Shuler's votes on certain issues in the House, he was seen as too conservative in some areas, but he is a good prospect for this Senate seat. If Shuler is the only Democrat that will be running, he may make this seat change from Likely R to Lean R/Tossup. I can see myself supporting Heath Shuler if he runs a good campaign and focuses on the issues facing the country. We will see.

Kasich/Thune ticket is what I fear
I think if Ohio Gov. John Kasich wins the nomination, and picks South Dakota Sen. John Thune as his VP, I would fear that ticket somewhat. These two are conservatives that play a good game of persuasion, and I think that would play into some uniformed voters. Thune would put MN, WI, IA in play, and Kasich with Ohio and Pennsylvania. That would be problematic. Thoughts?
I can see Trump using Michael Savage talking points
I can see Trump saying tonight to Sen. Marco Rubio that he's a "water boy from Miami" or some other crap Savage says. Michael Savage is still a radio show host, folks. He's 73 years old, and he's angrier than ever.
Chris Matthews on Andrea Mitchell Reports says GOP
will be screwed if they lose Ohio in November 2016, they will look foolish if they play a clown car tonight. He's right. I see Donald Trump saying foolish things tonight, period.
The Party needs debates. Period.
Hillary Clinton can't coast to the nomination without debates.
Joe Biden in Maumee, Ohio on September 17, 2008
Vice President Joe Biden will be an attack dog in 2016, should he run for president. We should not forget that. This is him in Maumee, Ohio, when the Obama/Biden ticket was against the crazy McCain/Palin ticket.
Can Baron Hill win the Indiana Senate race in 2016?
Former Democratic congressman from Indiana Baron Hill is currently running for the open Indiana Senate seat currently vacated by Dan Coats, who won his old seat back in 2010 after former Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh retired in 2010. Bayh was rumored to run for his old seat again, and with Bayh still having buckloads of cash in his campaign account, it was likely that Bayh would have been the most electable Democrat in the state. But Bayh declined to run, and Baron Hill looks like the Democratic choice. I would like to see some other Hoosier Democrats run, such as former Ambassador to India and former Indiana congressman Timothy Roemer, former Indiana congressman Brad Ellsworth. Do you think that Baron Hill can beat the Indiana Republicans to take back this Senate seat?
Salon: Draft Al Gore for president in 2016
With a presidential bid by Vice President Biden looking to happen for real soon, the magazine Salon posted on their website on July 17, 2015 stating that former Vice President Al Gore should run for president, because "Hillary's campaign is flailing, and Bernie Sanders is seen as "unelectable". Can you see Al Gore entering his hat in the ring, or will the Democratic Party establishment accept Biden, Gore, and Clinton running at the same time?

Jay Nixon for vice president?
I was wondering last night if Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon, who is term limited from running for reelection in 2016 as governor would be a good VP pick for the Democrats despite his crappy Ferguson shooting response. He seems like a decent governor in Missouri and won by a good margin in 2008 and 2012. Would you like him to be on the ticket or would his last name prevent it?
Biden is a Blue collar liberal. He can win Ohio.
Biden helped Obama win Ohio. It was a tough state for Obama to win.
